The house build is ready for the rain to come. The drainage run that takes all the water off the roof is complete. There are a few loose ends that need tidying up but its all set in place.

Ask the building inspector for their best advice on the inspection chamber. Have to admit all the inspection points I can think of on my own house are on the foul drains. None on the storm drains. Blockage might only be in many years when the soak away needs sorting. Prob the next generation. Look forward to next one.

Hi Rodian. Great videos found you a few months ago and have been catching up with previous ones. No chambers needed in surface water but best to have a rodding point and possibly a second exit in to soakaway as they can get clogged over time but both not needed to pass inspection. Also save your money on pea gravel and use the sand the building control I use prefers sand to gravel and your lucky enough to have loads of it for free! I'm sure in foul its 30m between chambers and on every exit/junction out of house (landscaping's my main work but do groundworks for builders) Good luck with the rest of the build.

If this was me doing the drainage buddy and whilst you have all the upheaval, I would drop a small catch pit on the y junction. This would allow inspection / maintenance to all runs, it would be a silt catcher before the final drop into the catch pit, I know you have p traps but believe me silt will still find it’s way through to the mains. You could then cover it for aesthetic reasons but at least it’s there when required. Better in the long run, say in years to come. trust me, 20 years in drainage👍🏼

You don’t need an inspection chamber. In theory the bottle traps should stop any crap going down the pipes and you can clean these out. I would also hide that washing up liquid as if Building Control see that they will go ape shit! Will he pass that soakaway? Most people want a Crate System nowadays, with breathable membrane surrounded by pea shingle. Pipe goes into the centre of the crates then a concrete lid is put on the top. In the last 4 years here, regardless of ground type it’s the only one we have been asked for and they have approved. Great videos and good luck with the build, I’d have waited for my machine instead of digging that by hand, good on you though!

Nah use shingle to bed the pipes on. It's cheap and will fill under the pipes with minimal hassle. If you just dropped back fill onto it there would be voids or poor compaction.

@RodianBuilds

Hey bud, I think getting help is a good idea. In hindsight I wish I had extra help through out the build. I am a stubborn git and wanted to do it myself but by the gods I wouldn't do it alone again! That's for sure🤣 I didn't have any experience whatsoever when I started filming. I re filmed the first episode 5 times and it took me 4 months to edit it 🤣 Don't be afraid to make mistakes and the one thing that helped me is a saying by Casey Neistat "Done is better than perfect". There is an amazing amount of tutorials about film making on KZfaq, that's how I learnt. Just enjoy the journey and learn as you go. Hope that is of some help bud, and good luck with your channel 😁👍
