This video is about How to Disable the Distracted Driver Setting while you are driving so that you can touch the screen while on the move. Now this feature will be reenabled once the car has been turned off so you will have to turn it off again when you start up.

Nice, i have been in the secret menu before on my 2021 passport to test turning the anc off before i tore into the dash to disconnect it. I will be going back in to do this. Thanks for sharing.

2022 Ridgeline….it works but only during that run time. When you shut off the vehicle and start it up the next time, it reverts to the original setting. Thoughts/suggestions?

I ran through it quickly and didn't see much that I really found useful but did not do a full dive in yet because as a parent its hard to dedicate full time to anything without spending time with my sons. As soon as I find anything useful It will be posted. 👍🏻

Haven't tried it yet but God Bless You if it works! What a pain. I always thought their should be a way to disable so the passenger could use. I hoped it would be disabled after detecting weight on the front passenger seat, like for the airbag. Going to give it a try on my 2019 tomorrow. Thanks again.

It will work. Guarantee! I use it frequently. I do however wish we could disable it for ever but this feature does revert back once you turn the truck off. But it’s a very simple and takes Litterally 10 seconds to do so it’s not a big deal.

no option to change colors on this menu from what I have seen. However would be cool. Not sure if the LEDS that are installed are single color LEDs or Have the capability of multicolor.

Have you figured out how to change the annoying setting of the audio/infotainment system turning off immediately when turning off the ignition, instead of a timed delay like other cars?

put it in neutral, turn the ignition off, put it in park. radio stays on. all I got so far

When you put it in park, hold the shift lever button while you turn off the ignition. The radio will stay on until you let go of the shift button.

no there is no permanent fix from what I can tell. But I probably do this a few times a month and its super simple and takes but a few seconds at a stop light.

This is a map update that is still free other than that I don’t believe there is any updates to the OS.

About time we've have options sure the driver could do this but if you have a wing/man/woman that could look for stuff instead of pulling over or pulling their phone out and telling you where everything is this is a better option! They should of told us this or let us have it when we purchased the vehicle! IT's ours by the way Geez !

No it automatically reverts. Good thing it only takes me less than 30 seconds. I do it quickly at a light if I forget. I do wish it was permanent, however this will be ok.

You have to do it every time you turn off the vehicle. It reverts to manufacturer preset.

Yes. Unfortunately it’s not a permanent fix. However I do this probably a few times a month. I have it down to like 10 seconds. So it’s not a big deal.

Once the truck shuts off this reverts back to its main preset. So you have to do this every time. However its super simple and I do it occasionally when stopped at a red light and can get it done within probably 20 seconds.

Unfortunately i believe it’s a safety feature that it reverts to original setting. Without reprogramming I do not believe it is possible.

Does your volume knob not also function as a power button if you press it in? I would think the process to be the same.

@@JosephAguirre I tried using the power button, but that didn't do it. Then I tried various combinations of the buttons, and stumbled upon the answer. Unfortunately, I didn't notice which one I was trying when it worked and I haven't been able to do it again. And there are LOTS of interesting settings in there besides just this one.

Am able to confirm that the key combo for the 2021 RL is Menu-Brightness-Power all three must be pressed at the same moment ...takes a couple tries. does not matter whether the radio was on or off

Only works for cycle of starting truck, meaning it has to be done every time your going to use it. Wish I knew a way to make it permanent.

My 2019 didn't work either, not sure what year was in this video. Could be a firmware change as well, Honda must have changed the button sequence. I tried many combinations with no luck so far.

I got this to work 1 out of 100 times. I press the three buttons and nothing happens, and I try until my fingers hurt. I dont know what I'm doing wrong, but it worked a couple of times.

I would never disable that feature. I am on the road so much I can’t just sit there driving and doing nothing else so I watch a lot of KZfaq, surf the web, and text people while driving. This feature helps me avoid plowing into others or running off the road while fiddling with my phone.
