Today, we'll take a look inside an interesting knife with a neat new lock, the WE Knives Vision R.

I love 💕 my Vision R I was worried I wouldn’t like the clip but honestly it works really well after you get used to it, which just took me a few tries in and out of the pocket to get it. I hook the clip on and turn the knife so that the blade is up against the back of my pocket, I haven’t had any issues with it trying to turn/move on me, it stays in position just as it should. I do admit I have no idea why they did a free spinning pivot on it but it hasn’t given me enough issue to be noteworthy. The pivot screws do have a tendency to back out which bugged the shit out of me because the 100% lockup would suddenly be gone and I’d have to retighten that spinning pivot, but now it’s loctited and all is good ❤

I wanted to like this one, and surprisingly a local shop had it. The implementation of the superlock is just super uncomfortable to operate, and hold the knife. They really should have sunk it into the knife body and made it a T shape (like benchmade axis lugs). Also the clip was horrible. I do like how there is one spring and it’s set way back from the pivot, and it’s easy to take the knife apart.

Wouldnt it be possible to find a Spring with similar dimesions but thicker wire so it would be stronger, and therefore the detent would be stronger as well?

From the video it appears that if some one wanted to go to the trouble of tapping the scale for a side mounted clip it seems possible. The original clip could be removed and the standoff could be retained. I'm hoping WE decides to make the change at the factory.

Can you take the clip off completely and still have it function fine?

You can't, because clip is integral with backspacer. You had to make custom backspacer.

@@MichalBreslau Most WE, Civivi parts are all compatible. It looks like a standoff from any WE, Civivi knife might just fit right there in place.

Those bearings ... are there any spares for buying ? I have a very bad experience with bearings on knifes (They rust), so it would be a good idea to have an option for buying spare ones :)

They are ceramic and don’t oxidate

It is possible to buy replacement bearings.

The clip holds the lock bar in place so I don’t think so.

Not really. There were custom variants without any pocket clip.

When this knife first came out I seriously wanted to buy it. The blade shape is saying something to me but alas, tis not to be.

Ugliest knife design I've ever seen 😆 every time I see this or the Civivi version I wonder why this was ever encouraged to be made with no redeeming qualities
