Really helpful! I had to replace my cover because the part where the hinges attach broke off. I took the change to loosen the hinges while I had it apart.

I accidentally spilled tea on my keyboard I tried opening up the laptop. I could not figure out how to remove the display cable. the biggest problem however was the plastic riveting on the keyboard which makes it inaccessible. Thanks for the video.

Can we use this laptop without battery with direct plugged in ?

you should really point out that the view Port connector need to be lifted up ,not push out.

Thank you! This laptop has probably one of the worst opening mechanics I have ever seen. Almost ripped the whole back of while trying to push it backwards to take it off. Felt like it was superglued to something. As I opened it, some plastic peace broke. Thank god it’s an old laptop with almost no value.

Hey, a quick one if you've taken one apart, what are the cells inside the battery pack? It seems too slim to be 18650.

Hello, my gpu died and I consider reheating it with a hair dryer or heat gun. Do I need to remove the motherboard first or is it safe to just blast it while it still attach to the body (After opening the heat pipe)?

It's a plastic sheathing to prevent the motherboard from contacting bare metal.

do you need to remove all the components in order to repair the hinges??
@Sellbrokedotcom4 жыл бұрын
No it looks like you can disconnect and remove the display assembly easily once the bottom case is off, then you will have to remove the LCD from the display assembly to remove that side of the hinges.

@sellbroke , i have a bios password in my y50 70 and I don't know what it is, and in my desperate try to bypass the supervisor password by shorting the eeprom from an KZfaq tutorial, which was a failure and the sad thing is now it is not booting my hdd instead it shows checking media and then Efi network 0 for ipv4 , and boot manager doesn't show any sata connection. How can i get back to using my laptop again?
@Sellbrokedotcom4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you may need another motherboard :( Otherwise you can just load Ubuntu on a USB stick and running your laptop from there.
@abdulrasheedtk49134 жыл бұрын
Thank you for replying, but is there no way to boot from my hdd? That really sucks.😔 when i shorted the eeprom i actually got into bios but it was not active only the titles were present like instructions boot etc, i couldn't select anything either. And also is it worth to spend on a new motherboard? My laptop is already really laggy and it heats up always when i game.
@Sellbrokedotcom4 жыл бұрын
@@abdulrasheedtk4913 If your BIOS is no longer recognizing the hard drive then you may have shorted something out. It also sounds like it no longer recognizes the keyboard. If you have a 4th gen Intel for your CPU it might be time to upgrade anyways. If you want to keep it a new motherboard with a GTX960m will run about $120-$150 on eBay. Good luck!
@abdulrasheedtk49134 жыл бұрын
@@Sellbrokedotcom keyboard is still working, i can still try the passwords i remember, i think shorting that eeprom took me to a read only version of bios i guess, i don't know if its not recognizing the hdd or if it just reset the bios to boot from Efi network, and yes i think it is time for an upgrade, but iam thinking of investing in pc build or to replace the motherboard add a ram and a ssd on my y50, even though it always heats up. Thank you for taking time to reply, much appreciated.
@Sellbrokedotcom4 жыл бұрын
@@abdulrasheedtk4913 Well you can always try shorting it again! Sometimes breaking something twice fixes it :) But seriously maybe a second reset may yield different results.... at this point why not? You are welcome, and thank you for watching.
