Ugh. Keeping shelving minimal and clutter free is a constant battle with so many new LEGO sets coming out.

I like having a black and copper or brown colour scheme, and that’s why I like my black shelves and orange lights to display my lego sets

When I think cluttered duck bricks instantly comes to mind. Nice collection but I dont understand how he moves, dusts, finds things, etc. But if hes happy.

I have my collection displayed on a walnut finish display cabinet. I really like how Lego looks against a wood background. I feel like the plastic contrasts really nicely.

Hey Holly! Managing your collection brings back fond memories. I'm 55, and have lived in the same home since Aug'70, when I was 2. Have soooo much stuff, on sooo many shelves that my basement looks like Buffalo Bill's in Silence of the Lambs -- except waaay more fairy lights, plus easy-to-access snacks.😂 This type of work works up an appetite! Looking forward to future steps!💕

This is such a good topic. Displaying collections and toys is so difficult while trying to do adulting.

*MY TIPS & TRICKS FOR YOU:* 1. Check how much display space you have. You can measure your display space with your items from 3 & measuring tape. 2. Don't display items that are too big for a shelf or closet. With 1 you know how many space you have, keep some space to the ledge. 3. Decide what item pieces you want to display based on 1 & 2. If you have too many items, please use storage or use 5. 4. Don't put a lot of stuff next to eachother. I know you can put smaller pieces next to a bigger piece but don't do it too much. 5. Don't be afraid to put spare items in other rooms inside your house. It makes it more like your own and really unique. 6. It's always best to keep space in mind for future items. This can become tricky but it's better for the future. 7. Look out for sunlight on white lego and be careful with dark red & brown lego. It's better to block sunlight. 8. Install LED-lights in your room (inside your closed closet, small ones on top of your shelves) for when it's dark outside. 9. Buy closets or shelves that can be removed so you don't have to repair or buy new ones if you want to move them. 10. Customize at your own liking and decide for yourself if you want to shuffle something around. Ignore my tips if you don't like them.

Wow! I likely goes and my grandson loves them. Find your video I’ooking for ideas on how to organize his room with all his Legos. The more I see how people organize them the more I am leaning towards glass cases or acrylic that keeps the dust away. It is such a challenge to dust the open shelves and each and every Lego piece. How do you keep them clean, how do you dust them?

Take your time! After searching for awhile, and after getting some shelves and then realizing I didn't like them, finally got the ones I loved. Don't ever say "it's not exactly what I want but good enough" wait it out and get that dream area :) Took me 3 years haha

I LOVE the PLANNING STAGE.

Definitely add some greenery (little pot plants - ikea do some great fake ones so if they’re in a darker space they won’t die) maybe add some other material as well, books etc and play around with height - bringing taller and shorter bits together. Rule of 3 is always a good place to start.

I like to make dioramas. Street scenes with modular buildings or city sets, stick an AT-AT against a white background with some Hoth turrets, suspend a Star Destroyer behind Tantive IV etc. I feel that it makes sets come alive rather than just accumulating dust.

What ive done, 1. In the kallax units and shelves, I organised by theme (marvel, tatooine, Hoth, Mario. disney) 2. A simple shelve on a wall does wonders with lego. U have closets and bookcases. But a single shelve, you can design it so much to your liking. 3. Dont buy everything. If the theme is full, either sell something or dont buy it. Saves a lot of money thinking twice

This is really helpful Holly. Perhaps the worst thing about collecting Lego is squashing it all together with lack of space lol.

Where can I find the display stands for the minifigures. I went for the Kmart display case for the cheap option... but they are too chunky.

My biggest problem with my collection is that I have a lot of different stuff: LEGO, Transformers, Marvel legends, Black series, figma. I want to have it all separated to keep all the themes together and in scale with each other, but I have so little space that I can't fit anything on my shelves anymore. I started putting new purchases in my dorm room but it's eventually going to bite me in the ass when I move out of there.
