Hi Foxy Friends! Today I'm sharing how I made my Yard Sign for my kids birthdays. It's weather proof, long lasting so you can use them over and over again! Each letter is 24 inches, so it's big enough to see down the street! You can use your Cricut or Cameo Silhouette or any vinyl cutting machine you have. It's a lot easier than you think, slightly time consuming, but super easy. I'm sharing everything I used, how I used it and leaving nothing out, hence the 20 minute video! So let's get started with what you'll need:
The following are all affiliate links:
Corrugated Plastic: shopstyle.it/l/bqoK3
30 inch H Stake (used for letters in the back): amzn.to/2LiEHLi
17 Inch H Stake (used for letters in the middle): shopstyle.it/l/bqoKT
4 Inch Pins (used for the letters in the front): amzn.to/2X6V5Bj
Vinyl (the exact one I use, it's permanent and weather proof): amzn.to/2Lmeags
Box Cutter set (this is the exact one I used): amzn.to/2X6aGRB
Contact Paper: shopstyle.it/l/bqo2l
Circut Machine: amzn.to/3soL7dd
Craft Pick I use: amzn.to/3hTdafH
My Amazon Store Front: amzn.to/32zJGAu
Click here for the blog post explaining in more detail: bit.ly/3vhiD6w
The letter font I used is AllStar4 Font from Dafont.com

Thank you so much for your tutorial! It was super helpful! One thing that might help aligning the pieces together is to use parchment paper. The vinyl and transfer paper doesn't stick to the parchment paper so then you can line it up more quickly.

Thanks for sharing in such detail! I look forward to making some soon. Just a few questions please...on Amazon for the vinyl you used, how many rolls of vinyl & what size is each roll for that price are you receiving? I think you get to pick which colors by contacting them first to complete the order, is that right?
@FoxysDomesticSide
@FoxysDomesticSide 3 жыл бұрын
I actually bought it from a place called Craft Vinyl dot com. They have super strict rules, but are the cheapest that i have found. As long as you follow the rules you'll get the best price out there. I got the 12 x 15 ft rolls. You'll need about 4 ft of vinyl per letter, a 15ft roll is $6.95. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thank you! I don't think so. I took out the parts that I filmed that were lessons learned, like how to lay down the vinyl. The first few letters had a lot of bubbles but by the time I filmed what I did do, I had gotten it down. Just make sure not to freak out with all of the bubbles. You can slice them with your exacto knife and you can barely see them. Just make sure when you pop them to go with the grain of the corrugated plastic. Also make sure that you lay down your letters in the same direction as the internal slats, so that when you put the stakes in, the letters are facing the correct direction! Good luck, it's a LOT easier once you get started. Good luck, you got this! Oh make sure to give yourself plenty of time to do it. I gave myself a few weeks, so there wasn't the pressure to finish. :)

Thank you for sharing where I order the white board and how much do you think you spent in cost planning my sister's 50th birthday
@FoxysDomesticSide
@FoxysDomesticSide Жыл бұрын
I answered this down below, but these were prices from 2020, but this is what I paid. The Corrugated plastic was $40 (to make about 21 letters), and then vinyl cost about $40, depending on where you buy it, then the stakes were another $35-40. You could get all of the Homedepot stakes and those are $1.12 per stake, but all of the letters will be the same height, the higher cost ones were the small stakes ($10 per pack, which will hold 4 of your letters, if you buy from Amazon) and the really tall stakes for the HAPPY (I did buy those from a place called Dirt Cheap Signs, but it was $11 to ship $10.50 worth of stuff, that being said, I paid rush shipping, so it might lower then that, so I would really check there first). Seems like a lot, when you add it up, but you can use them over and over. I've used them 4 times already, and plan to use them for every birthday! Really you could rent them out to your friends for half the cost of what they are going for (at least in my area they are about $120 for a 24 hour rental, I figured I made my own for about the same but I get to keep them and use them over and over). Good luck! Let me know if you have any other questions, sorry this was a long winded answer =)

@FoxysDomesticSide

Yes it could be done that way, but I decided to do it this way so I can reuse it and not worrying about it getting wet. So far I've used it two years in a row for both of my kids, and then a neighbor borrowed it for her sister, so for under $100 I've already used it 5 times. And it still is going strong and plan to use it until the kids don't want a huge sign out front announcing their birthday :)

@FoxysDomesticSide
@FoxysDomesticSide 2 жыл бұрын
Not sure if I mentioned it, but more details are on the blog post bit.ly/3vhiD6w, but I used 1 sheet of 4' x 8' and one sheet of 3' x 6'. If you don't have a big car, I would suggest getting a bunch of smaller sizes. It barely fit into my SVU and I had to sort of ramp it up on the back of my seat to fit. Good luck!

It seems pretty expensive... The corrugated plastic from Home Depot she linked is $30..and its 48in by 96 in... I would say that's maybe at least 2 or 3 letters.. and the little H stakes are 30 pieces for like $49. Still an AWESOME project but pretty pricey
