We're making Skate Coping! In this video I'm showing you how to DIY Skate Coping from canned beverages. A lot of people like to make beer canned copping, because you're basically recycling your cans and making them dual purpose! In this video I'm talking and showing you the process I went about on how to make this DIY skate copping from cans.

Nice. I would cut pvc in half then zip tie back together, fill and cut zip ties. Probly would straighten a metal coat hanger and poke wet cement every 6 inches or so to get air bubbles out. Probly lube the pvc before to de shell easier.

You could water cure with the cans on if you wanted to. If you have a really good mold that’s tightly sealed, you can periodically spray the exposed part of the concrete and cover it with some plastic. It has the same function as water curing. Also the bottles that Smart Water comes in make amazing coping molds.

Another Killer video Brother! Love all the DIY videos. Another great way to make beer can coping or parking blocks is to use 2"-6" PVC pipe. Cut with a grinder using a metal blade. Will cut pvc like a hot knife through butter! Cut in half and to length for a perfect round coping. Just choose your size, use plugs for the ends. Use some wd-40 to coat the inside to make it come out easy. Pour concrete and wait 24hrs. Bam, beer can coping as long as you want in a single piece! Keep up the good work Brother! 👊🍻🤘

#Concrete mixing tip: add water to wheelbarrow prior to dumping in concrete. Makes things easier. Roughly 3/4s of a gallon per 80 lbs bag. You can also wrap any concrete in plastic to keep in any moisture on concrete that exits the concrete through evaporation. That will create the water curing process as well. And concrete takes roughly 28 days to reach full PSI strength. And add some moisture to the coping cans to help bind them to the new concrete you’re laying down when installing. Aside from a skatehead, I’m a fence/concrete contractor. That’s why I share these pointers. Rad to see you doing these DIYs.

Yesss! Been waiting for 'Dowdy Does: Beer Can Coping' without even knowing it 😅 Tips - you can cleanly remove can tops by sanding them on some smooth concrete. - Use the tallest cans you can find, more grind less gaps. 🤘🤙

@@NOAH1995able hold the bottom of the can in your palm, then scrub the top ring down in small circles til the seam gives way. Leaves a nice edge if done well. 👍 Search for 'how to remove can top without tools' or just use a can opener.

The tops of the cans are crimped on. With a good pair of scissors you can cut the very top edge (1 or 2 mil down from the top). And the top will come off super easy and with no sharp or jagged edges. This also keeps part of the ring I place which keeps the top rim stable.

Zack, being that you are down in San Diego beer crowlers are probably even better to use. Sometimes breweries have to throw away cans that don't seal properly or you could ask employees if they could save the cans for you.
@weinersmalls5684
@weinersmalls5684 2 жыл бұрын
drill a hole in the side for the rebar and one on the bottom for good luck - the bigger cans especially have trouble sometimes staying together on the ends when you take the cans off. orbital sander till it bleeds a little out the side hole. before you stick the rebar in. two nights in the can seems to help a lot of them survive being skinned - also might help keep the rebar peg in there solid. then submerged in a bucket of water for two weeks. that's it. i've tried making blocks (w beer cans) but it seemed to need more material (than traditional block thickness) to join them up. pour in place seems better. rapidset hi strength mortar to embed them is expensive but it has worked (so far). i've heard you might be able to cut that stuff w regular mortar too but i havent tried that yet. okay then. peace everyone.
