I’m just a bit confused on how the poles stay in! We just did dirt but it’s not very sturdy.

You might want heavier dirt or some bagged rocks at the bottom of your planter. Sometimes potting soil can be too lightweight.

FYI, I tried this exactly as described and the poles are not nearly stable enough to put lights on. I had to return it and go with 4x4 posts in concrete
