hey guys im gonna tell you a MUCH safer way to do this, Have a mat or a gymnastic mat just somewhere safe and then first start of with a backbend then fall over into backbend walkover and then add a jump to it watch ur hands go back Should be easy the kid friendly way is with a spot jump back into a backhand spring while someone lifts u back as well uwu 🥰

Any tips on getting over the mental block? I can do it on a trampoline, with a spot, i have a back walkover and back limber, but something about jumping backwards and landing on my hands just really freaks me out and I always end up falling or doing a back limber when I try.

I have a couple tips I just got my backhand spring so I don’t know to much but 1. Never think about it if you do you’ll get in your head and u won’t do it 2. Practice a lot with a spot when your ready go ahead and do it by yourself 3. Just go for it if you think you can do it and with a lot of spot help you’ll be doing it in no time hope you get it❤ ( sorry I was late)

Since some of you guys haven’t learned from it try it first on trampoline or gymnastics mat or anything soft you don’t need to know how to do a back bend because doing a backhand spring doesn’t include one you have to bend your knees hands facing front and go all the way back and if you scared I prefer start with a spotter and then try by yourself it’s actually kind of easy but you need to know how to put all the weight on your hands and feet together(jump)hands back legs up)land on hands)jump with hands to make a neat landing)land on feet)MOST IMPORTANT IS (legs together)weight on HANDS) hope that helps😊

in order to push urself into a back handspring, u have to put all of ur body pressure on ur heels, and then when ur jumping, ur toes should be the last thing coming up. shes very right, u do need to watch ur hands. but these are easier tips!

I’m a competitive gymnast, and the only problem I’m having is the jump in a backhand spring. I can do a bridge, bridge kick over, back walkover, and a back limber. I don’t know why I can’t jump in the air when I do a backhand spring.

@@uraverage_shark that’s facts. I have found so much better videos, but this one makes me a bit angry. It’s hard to just slam a bunch of skills together and call it a backhand spring. Us as humans, have mental block just springing back. I don’t understand how she expects us to just put the skills together and do a backhand spring. Yes, I can do have every single skill she presents in this video, but just because we have them, doesn’t mean that we can put them all together and do it. I doubt this is how she learned her backhand spring. (BTW, this is not an hate comment. Don’t take it too seriously.)

It took me a while to do it but I did manage and I practice on a mattress and I did it successfully. All I did was put my hands up, locked my arms and legs and then I did a push down and jump back into the back handspring, and then I practice snapping my hands to the ground and landing the backhand spring and and until I can do it on the ground with some blankets and some pillows each time I removed the pillow and then I just did it on the ground hope this helps ❤😊

okay so today I learnt mine in a day. Basically, you need a back limber before attempting but what I did I did a back end but right before I added a jump and gradually increased that jump.

You should also do some shoulder exercises so that you can push off the ground with your shoulders. Doing planks and pushing with your shoulders are good and handstands pushing through your shoulders 👍🏻

I’ve been able to do a back walkover for 4 years now and can’t get over my huge mental block on a back handspring on floor/air track. I’ve had it on trampoline since may and there is just a huge mental block to move it onto floor-I can do it on inflatables too but I just can’t-are there any tips to get over a mental block?? ❤❤❤

I have the same exact situation! Try with a spot from a trusted coach and stay tight! Tell yourself it’s all in your head and your capable to do it. Also try on sting mats or onto an 8 inch mat. If you were to fall, it would catch you a bit more. Good luck!!
