How to do a brake chamber cage (how to disable brake chamber on truck or trailer)

Hello.
In this video I am explaining how to stop air leak from brake chamber or how to disconnect the brake on the truck or trailer by doing the brake chamber cage using T-bolt so you could safely reach closest shop to have it replaced.
Make sure you take your time and doing everything carefully.

I never pinched off the other line, if you leave that one open your service brakes can still work. However on some trucks or trailers, there is a hose from one chamber to the other so depending on which one is leaking if you pinch the hose off, you will have to cage both chambers on that axle.

@Ben The Service Guy thanks! I will close the lines bended with zip ties. Didn take my tool this time. Need to find an adjustable key. On a trailer its more easy I agree)

@@DmitriHolod make sure you put some electrical tape or duct tape on those zities, to make sure they will not slide away :)

You can also unscrew the air lines and put couple of rivets or self taping screws in the lines so the heads block it off and rescrew the lines back on it stops the air to the booster and you do not damage the lines by squeezing them up with vice grips always carry a few screws or rivets in your tool box .

Yes, this is way better option, big respect from me for having a tool box and especially for having plugs for the airlines. In this video I do not show it because 90% of drivers do not have those plugs. I show emergency situation when not much tools on hand. Thanks for your comment!

I did that years ago. I had the vice grips handles heading towards the axke and secured them as best as I could to the axle. Great demonstration

Now I know how to cage my brakes which is not bad at the age of 22 I know more now than drivers twice my age who will drag the trailer and ruining the tires
