F A D E D C U L T U R E.
Fading Steps:
Trim top using 1 finger for length, match left and right sections to middle for even length.
1st step, Debulk with 1 1/2 guard lever open
2nd step, set in guideline with 0 lever closed
3rd step, lever open set in next guideline
4th step, 1 guard lever open next guideline
5th step, 2 guard lever open next guideline
6th step, 3 guard lever open
7th step, scissor over comb
8th step, blend top guideline with 1 1/2 guard lever at 3/4
9th step, blend middle guideline with 1/2 guard lever 3/4
10th step, continue blending middle guideline with 1 guard at 3/4
11th step, blend last guideline with clipper lever closed, then open halfway, then all the way.
12th step, touch up work 1/2 guard at 3/4
13th step, use trimmers to take out bottom hair
15th step, use electric shaver
16th step, do any line up then shave and sharpen with straight razor

Good advice Man that is so true about cutting little kid’s hair. When a barber cuts my hair, I could sit there all day for it.. especially when I know when I’m in good hands and the hair cut will be on-point, it feels like a pamper-session and I’ve almost fallen asleep a couple of times from being so relaxed. But when I cut my sons hair. He does get frustrated and starts to fidget and once he does, he complains about cut- hairs itching his neck.

My goal is pretty much end up being proficient in cutting my own hair and my son’s hair.. and I’m happy! I just tried this method on myself and seems to work well, but it’s still gonna take me a lot of practice. My question is, was it mentioned in the video if the clippers were Zero gapped? And does zero gapping make a huge difference in this technique/ method or if the clipper is not zero gapped, it may affect/change that 3/4 lever position ? Thanks

That’s amazing! Ive never seen anyone who performs a very technical, careful and detailed hair cut like what you gave in the video. I cut my brother hair this evening and the behind look not very smooth and after I watched your video I understood why. As I used only a single clipper with no comb.
