There is actually another way to practice this 1. Practice doing bunny hops, bunny hops are similar to the waltz jump but in the waltz jump you land backwards :D 2. You can first try practicing doing the waltz jump, but land and takeoff with 2 feet 3. Once you get comfortable with the 2nd direction, then try landing on 1 foot, but take off on 2 4. Then when you feel ready, try to do a small waltz jump, you can do it near the wall if needed
