americans and australians accent tend to sound the same to me sometimes and i found out why cause both have an alveolar flap r that means they pronounce T and D as R or they replace /t/ sound with a /d/ sound when tor d is between two vowels

Its a modern urban Australian accent as opposed to a stereotypical accent Paul Hogan accent. If I make an analogy it would be southern drawl versus a generic Californian accent.

There’s no way! If your talking about encounters at cafes or in work place a lot of people (including myself) put on a more accented voice to seem calmer and many of these accents sound British/americanised.

No! Your guys accent 's are so freaking beautiful, wtf would you want to change it. I LOVE both Aussie accents, and British accents. But my favourite one is British (Cockney to be more specific). Just be glad you don't have a freaking boring and dull American accent like me.😢😂

Aha I totally agree. Here in Australia, there are soooooo many people who wish they had a British accent. People actually think I am British and say I sound British, but nobody in my family was from England. I 'reckon' it's because the Australian English language is VERY similar to that of the British, and I just speak rather formal so that probably leads them to think that.

Don't worry it's pretty easy to understand, the only thing you'll have trouble understanding is a slang. That's all u should worry about, but you'll get used to it

my australian friend has an accent that is a mix between a strong australian and american. it's sort of like yours but the australian is a whole lot stronger. the australian accent is more interesting than the 'british' accent (im from england)

I'm Filipino and when I hear people talking in accents I automatically copy them but I don't do it on purpose, and no one's ever gotten mad at me for it It's just natural. Also if I speak in English I automatically switch to an American accent but I've never been outside of Asia

+myjfff No we are completely polar opposites in the accents. I have an American father who has a California accent, and I have an aunt with a Texan accent plus I've heard every other possible American accent and none of them sound similar to the Australian accent, in this case the Aussie accent sounds nothing like an American accent, not even in the tone nor pronunciation. Oh well who cares anyway! I hope you have a good day mate!

Thank you. Very educational for me. I have only been there once in Sydney and did find it sometimes hard to understand. But i liked the accent. May be English speaking people do not find it hard to understand though
