This oil change ended up being the bane of my existence; with a mega tight sump plug, 3 broken ratchets and dying cameras to contend with. As I said in the video 5W-30 is the one for under 100K miles Mini's and 5W-40 for above 100k miles. Any questions, please ask!

Finally! I drained the wrong oil because no one had my turbo model. The drain plug was under the cooling vent. Thank you

Have yet to do this, but apparently if you loosen the oil filter housing to the last 2 threads or so and let it sit for about 10 mins, most of the oil should drain out, leaving less of a mess when you pull it

Same problem I have with my r53 mini dipstick its really really hard to see the oil level on the dipstiick man honestly sometimes I think I might not even have oil in the car

Have a watch of “Camshaft-ed Ep2” on my channel mate. I show off a metal dipstick that is more hard wearing and easier to read. There’s a link to it in the description also.

Great informative vid! Can I ask about the axle stand point... is there anything specific you're using? The plastic points don't look great for stands!

Hey Ben. Thanks for your comment and kind words. The jacking points are no good for axle stands. There’s a little lip behind the jacking points which is where I put my stands and have never had an issue 🤙🏼

Nice one m8,can you du one on changing the liquide cooling? R53 run hot and its a good Idea to change the cooling liquid every 40.000

Hi Mike, Check out one of my recent videos where I replaced the radiator on my R53, I refill the coolant there.

I like to have a go at most of the "non technical" jobs myself for a little job satisfaction.... Do you have or will you be doing a complete coolant/antifreeze flush and refill? ... Easy to understand vid btw.
