I think this was exactly the way projection cleanup was explained to me when I first started. 5 min explanation now get to it, great stuff. loving these quick tutorials. Maybe a reconcile 3D one, I use that to get a quick 2D track out of something that was camera tracked. I also think these quick tuts are good for the flame guys out there who are trying to get their heads around nuke. Cheers Hugo!

Cool. I'm planning on doing some plate clean up shots for practise and for my reel. I've done projection with stills but not video so this was helpful.

I love the very short format of those tutorials. Most often all you need is just a hint at how it's done. I use the same technique very often. Where I have trouble is whe the background isn't just a nice flat wall but something more complex.

I always have trouble turning off my patches once I don't need them anymore without ghosting effects happening. I can't just leave the patch there all the time right? U gotta keep as much as the original as possible?? I wish there was a tutorial on how to do that well... It's always a bit of a struggle for me. I can remove the thing, hut removing it without altering the plate much is way harder

Don't you want to take your frameholds from your undistorted plate?
@HugosDesk
@HugosDesk 8 жыл бұрын
+Daniel Miller Well I assumed people understand that needs to be done. And yes I do take them from a undistorted plate, I rendered all plates of the film like that. Did not mention it in the video. Only 5 min. I can make a note in top. It's a good point since some people may not know that. Thanks for the comment.
@danielmiller6187
@danielmiller6187 8 жыл бұрын
Yes I sent this video to a junior artist and then just noticed this difference in the workflow. More than not mentioning it was the fact you didn't hook the patch to the undistor in your node graph. Thanks for these videos though they are very useful - short tutorials are definitely the best way to go.
