Hi, thanks again for this great video :) I'm getting better and better at it, but sometimes I'm still a bit confused with the channels and with reversing selections especially. Maybe you could make a video explaining the relationship between channels and layers for colour separation? In any case, many thanks to you.

Hello! I'm glad to hear that you're improving with the content from my videos. It's great to hear that you're still learning and growing. Channels and layers can be confusing, but don't worry, it'll get easier with time. Thanks for the suggestion about a video on channels and layers, I'll definitely keep that in mind for future content. Thanks again for watching and for your feedback!

Thank you for tutorials! You are awesome. Could you tell me do you use Gaussian Blur filter in final printing or just for preview? In final printing CMYK layers must be sharp or blurred? Thank you!

You're welcome! Glad the tutorials were useful. Gaussian Blur filter - it's primarily for preview purposes. For final printing, CMYK layers should remain sharp. 👍

great video, so far best detailed explanation, quick question what halftone settings should we use for 230 mesh? and do you need to shrink base a bit so that white is not peaking? or it's done by actions automatically?
@learncolorseparation
@learncolorseparation Ай бұрын
Thanks for the praise! For a 230 mesh, try 45-55 LPI for halftones. As for the base, you'll need to manually shrink it to avoid white peeking - no automatic actions for that. Hope this helps!

Question. Why don't you use the split channels function instead of converting the channels to spot channels
@learncolorseparation
@learncolorseparation Жыл бұрын
Hello there, and thank you for your question! In the video, I chose to convert channels to spot channels for a specific purpose: to show a halftone preview with a white underbase. While it is certainly possible to use the split channels function and then convert each channel to halftones in separate documents, this can be a time-consuming process. By converting the original CMYK channels to halftones and moving them to layers for printouts, we can streamline the separation process and save time. Additionally, using the CMYK halftone actions can further simplify and speed up the process of creating halftones.

question: I was trying to export it as PNG file with your registration marks added, but it has WHITE background how do I make sure its only what I need to print and white background is not there?
@learncolorseparation
@learncolorseparation Ай бұрын
Use the magic wand tool to select the white background and delete it. This will leave you with a transparent background, showing only the elements you need to print. Then go ahead and export your file as a PNG.

Sir, can u make video, how to make interlock halftones, i heard all the angles are the same for every color except for white base, do you know how to do interlock halftones, cause many printer said, it will create nice gradient than other method
@learncolorseparation
@learncolorseparation Жыл бұрын
I think interlock and invert halftones are the same. If we invert white halftones, the other color halftones won't sit on top of white. So, it is best to invert black, as we don't want black to sit on top of other colors. Watch this one if you want to know how to make inverted halftones: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iqyfrLt9tt7NZoU.html

PLEASE TELL ME WHY I NEED WHITE UNDERBSE?
@learncolorseparation
@learncolorseparation Жыл бұрын
White underbase is a layer of white ink printed on a garment first, before adding the final design colors. This helps make the colors brighter, more vivid, and less influenced by the garment color. It's an important step in achieving a high-quality screen print.
