A quick look at how to do donuts in a RWD car, using left foot braking to control the angle and speed of the car. Using these techniques to do donuts will give you the ability to spin the car in confined areas and with more precision than otherwise possible.

Mine is a 2007 Audi A4 B7 manual, not sure if there is any fuse for ECU cutoff. I read in some forums that there may be a way to disable the cutoff but can't find anyone local that can reflash the software to enable left foot braking. Any ideas are appreciated :)

You might get lucky and only have a brake pressure switch, being an 07 and all. Go look at your brake pedal and see if there is a pressure switch that isn't your brake light switch. The Fiesta has one so if you jab the brakes the fuel pump cuts out. I hope it works out for you!

@Teamoneilrally
@Teamoneilrally 5 жыл бұрын
It will work the same with an open diff, but you might find it's easier going around one direction than the other. A lot of RWD cars with open diffs tend to spin the right rear tire more often than the left, so doing donuts counterclockwise is easier than clockwise. This isn't always the case, but if you try both directions you'll probably find your car likes one more than the other.

@ceasars1997
@ceasars1997 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great vid! It was hard to interpret your subtle foot movements when you were doing the donuts. Do you left off the gas when you apply the brakes? or do you accelerate while braking to compensate for the braking of the rear wheels? Also, if your left and right feet movements are directly related to each other is there a delay/sequence to the movements? Lastly, i assume the brake foot more closely controls the front wheel speed and thus overall speed of the car. How do you gauge how much gas to apply?
@Teamoneilrally
@Teamoneilrally 4 жыл бұрын
Basically: Your right foot on the throttle is controlling the rear wheel speed, your left foot on the brake is controlling the front wheel speed, and there's a little battle between the two over actual vehicle speed. Ideally you're on the gas enough to keep the rears spinning, then squeezing enough brake to keep the car's speed where you want it.

Depends on where you do them, private property is fine but anywhere else is usually illegal, that being said it’s unlikely you’ll get caught in a parking lot if it’s secluded. I know ur comment is 2 years old but I figured I could answer since no one else did lol

@@animelover-tw2xl yea if a cop sees you doing that they’ll probably give you a ticket, if a random person sees your license plate and calls it in you could also get fined, taking your license plate off is more trouble than its worth so that’s out of the question, if you have a racetrack nearby to your house you might be able to ask them to use it if they don’t have anything going on. I’m guessing you don’t have private property to practice on so that’s why I’m telling u all the options I can think of lol

One thing to be aware of: A lot of RWD cars with open differentials tend to spin the right rear tire easier than the left rear tire. I'm not sure exactly why this happens inside the diff, it's just the path of least resistance to spin the right side than the left side. SO this is only important because if you want to drift around a corner, you need to spin the outside rear tire to break the rear end loose... SO most RWD cars drift around left corners better than they drift around right corners. This isn't always the case, but if you're running an open diff you'll definitely find that one way is easier than the other.
