➰ MY HAIR TYPE ▼
→ Curl Pattern: “S” & “O” Curl Shape (Type 3, 4a Curls)
→ Texture: Fine To Medium Strands (The Width Of Actual Hair Strands)
→ Density: Medium To HIgh (Amount Of Strands I Have On My Head. Less in the front, More In The Crown/Back Areas)
→ Porosity: Low To Medium (Slow To Absorbs Moisture, Holds On To It Pretty Well)
→ Elasticity/Shrinkage Level: 45-70% (How Loose And/Or Tight My Curls Are)
→ Sebum Production: Balanced (Amount of Natural Oils My Scalp Produces)
► What This Means: I have very curly/coily hair that is prone to build up, single strand knots, and tangles. My hair sometimes will appear super thick because my density is high although, in reality, my strands are on the finer end of the spectrum. My shrinkage level is a reflection of how loose(front-”S” curls) and tight(crown/back-”O” curls) my curls are. It also indicates how healthy my hair is, shrinkage is a GOOD sign. I tend to avoid heavy styling products(butters/creams/gels), layering too many products, and some silicons so that I won’t get build up. Using lighter products(liquids/mousse/custards) allows me to stretch my wash day to once a week. Typically I can go 3-4 days before I need to moisturize my hair again.

That pre-sectioning is actually a really good idea! Idk why I never thought to do that when I do my box braids! But imma try the method out when I do my braids today!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾

keep trying im now 14 and have been doing hair since 12, for some reason parting came natural to me, but i can say they got better but the braids itself takes time, so keep trying💕

Shania Maria put a little of eco black castor & flaxseed oil gel on your hair before you put edge booster, it wont leave your hair white & in my opinion its shiner & actually makes my edges last all day long

I appreciate your explanation and everything . Your braids came out really pretty. I just bought my hair yesterday but my hair is like 2 inches and really thick so I know that if you took 3 days to braid all of your hair (I understand it was off and on plus you have a family and took breaks, slept etc)... trust and believe it may take me a week because I HAVE to do my braids small. That's okay though, because I'm gonna leave mine in for a good 2 months if not a little longer. Thanks for sharing.

I always pre section my hair before I braid it. I do one day for the prep(wash, condition, etc) and the other 2 days to braid it

Friendly tip when you section your hair for box braids use the checkered board pattern. Because when it lays down you wouldn't notice the sections and it'll look more natural. Again just a friendly tip. I'm still learning myself.

I am attempting this for the first time and this tutorial was great!! I usually only do marley or passion twists so I felt discouraged lol this helped! ❤️

I came across your video Friday . I started my hair Friday night and it’s looking like it’ll be Sunday by the time I’m finished 😫.. I’m so over it .. it’s my first time doing knotless . Sooooo over it plus I have a teething baby so I have to keep stopping of course lol

did you blow dry your hair first? if so, do you think it was easier with blow dried hair or did it make a difference?

You don’t necessarily need to blow dry, it just needs to be stretched so it doesn’t tangle meanwhile you do your thang. Blow drying just gives it the best possible stretch, but you can braid it or band it (I like to combine them, braid it then band the braid).
