Hi Thank you. I begun bandaging 2 weeks ago. Am still getting the hang of it. Psychologically I am finding it hard. No one seems to talk about how this affects ones life, family etcetera. My leg dictates my day. I am spending 50% of my day lying down legs up because it drains me to carry around my heavy leg. I swim, exercise in the morning but in the afternoon am done for. Eating our is suddenly a challenge, and so is traveling. 😢

It’s so hard and you sound like you are doing all you can. It’s definitely not addressed enough, but check out LymphieStrong on social media. There are a lot of healthy discussions about this very challenging aspect of lymphedema. Sending my best!

I really appreciate your comment. I’ve been curious to hear from other patients about what changes you’ve had to make since I am just getting ready to start. You should do a blog!

@cancerRehabPT Hello! I am new here in the community. I was recently referred t your channel by my PT as I just began bandaging for congestive therapy to manage my lymphedema. Today is my first go at independently wrapping my leg, so this video was VERY useful. I am very new in the lymphedema journey, so I look forward to taking notes on resources and guidance you provide, Thank you so much for creating this channel as a resource for all those who are in the fight to managing this chronic condition. As a woman of color, one immediate observation is that there are VERY limited skin tone complementing bandage in shades for Black & Brown skin tones. Any recommendations that you may have in terms of companies that may cary color inclusive bandage would greatly be appreciated.

Hello thank you, is bandaging better than compression socks?

Great video! I’m starting bandaging next week. Should I plan not to drive home?

Great video! Very detailed. So what do you put over top your toes before shoes? And Lordy, finding shoes, and not some goofy looking slipper, is a challenge so fit with all the swelling and bandaging.

It is hard! I have worked with a handful of patients who have found shoes that work well - I need to get a list together!

Nice video. A couple of questions. I will be starting the bandaging phase soon, with moderate to severer fibrosis. If it's 4 or 5 weeks of bandaging. Roughly, how often should the bandaging be changed per week? I have to drive myself to and from the appointments. (15 miles each way) What type of bandaging is best if I need to be mobile? (I don't have any shoes that will fit over the bandaging as demonstrated in this video) Mainly one pair of slip-on shoes will fit as of right now. Are Velcro wraps a better alternative for me? Thank you for your videos. They are very helpful.

Hello. What if the patient has an open wound on the leg, do you still use all these layers?

Too much stuff to wrap! Won't be able to put on a shoe or slipper.
