Great tutorial! This is the first lift I teach many of my partners cause it teaches so many techniques, and I kept thinking "I hope they touch on this! I hope the base talks about the wrists. I hope they do a progression!" Y'all nailed it :) The only thing I would add that I have found helpful to work on this lift is there is a great practice that partners can do with the base laying on the ground and the flyer falling forward into their hands and going into the arched back position. This is a wonderful way for the flyer to learn their balance and how to tighten their body, the base to figure out the control through the wrists. On last thing is I have had several partners who had muscular legs which made me have to do this lift at the top of their thighs. Most of the time the hips are perfect, but there will be exceptions where the base will need to find that center for the flyer. Fantastic video guys!! And a favorite lift of mine to create variations off of :)

So glad you enjoyed the video, and again thank you for the feedback! The exercise of laying on the back is normally something we suggest especially if the flyer is having a hard time finding balance. Unfortunately that day we forgot to get footage of it so it didn't make the video, but there is always room for improvement in the future. Thanks again Daniel we appreciate your time and support.

Hi guys! Amazing tutorial! I've seen in previous comments that height isn't too big a difference, but what if the base is shorter than the flyer? Say about 5'5 vs 5'7? I assume it shouldn't be too much of an issue?

What level of upper body strength is required as a base
@bcdancepassion6922
@bcdancepassion6922 4 жыл бұрын
Hello Katie, yes there is strength required when attempting this movement but not as much as you would think, we can manage to support weight when our arms are outstretched and locked into position. The true technique behind this lift is the timing between base and flyer and reducing the amount of time it takes to get from flexed arm position to locked position. For the flyer it’s helping through the leaving of the ground through leg extension and pushing through the arms to assist off of the shoulders. The bases response is to get the elbows tucked under the flyer and not let them go out to the sides but parallel with the flyer, from there he must press through the legs at the same time as the flyer and try to push the arms into full extension and locked position. Hope this helps, but if you need assistance we do online coaching which is LIVE and can help you learn faster!

Hii I have a question, is the flyer weight matters? Is there any ratio of the base person, and flyer? If they are like equal weight still can do? Flyer weight about 60kg, néed to lose weight first
@bcdancepassion6922
@bcdancepassion6922 3 жыл бұрын
It’s important but not impossible if the base and Flyer are similar heights and weight, I have seen two women base each other in this lift and they were the same height, so it’s really more about technique and speed. How fast can the base lock out the arms and how quickly can the Flyer hit the final pose and maintain it. Hope this helps, and side note we offer online coaching if your interested just reach out to us here or via Instagram @bcdancepassion

This is the move that, in my unschooled opinion, best portrays the Gospel. Let me explain. We are the Bride of Christ, or as far as this movement goes, the "flyer." Jesus makes this "flight" possible because of His strength, but without the trust of the "flyer" it wouldn't work either. When we as Christians allow Jesus to not just pull us out of the muck and mire of our sinful life, and then put our FULL trust in His capable hands, then we will understand what the prophet means when he says, "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up on wings as eagles. And that is the Gospel in picture form.

Hey David, because of your new computer you probably have already installed on the computer a program called Movie Maker 10 which is fairly good from what I remember. But if you want a Free program that is good and upgradable I would look into a program called “Lightworks” it comes highly recommended.
