😊😊thanks bro it helped me, i am a stubborn person using intelliJ even though my colleague use eclipse. Personally i don't like eclipse because of it's UI( old ). NOTE: i was using both tomcat installer version and tomcat zip, because of it my ports 8805 was occupied and tomcat was giving me error, then i removed the tomcat installer app and it worked properly.

For those who are getting 404 error, You need to follow the video at every step. Even at creating the project. I was trying to configure the tomcat server for an existing project and it didn't work.

it worked, much obliged:D however, if localhost:8080/tomcatConfiguration is the JSP, it its suppose to access to tomcat default page on localhost:8080 but i got 404. any idea?

You haven't given default mapping to tomcat, if you remove tomcatConfiguration from edit configuration your file will run on localhost:8080/

for windows , open command prompt and type netstat -ano You will get list of all processes, find the pid of the process running on 8080 port and copy it.Then open task manager and paste the pid on search bar and kill the process

JSP means Java Server pages. In html you can only write html tags but with JSP if you are working with java framework and you want to develop your standalone java application without help of html or frontend framework like react, angular or vue.js. You can use JSP in JSP you can write html also and java code also in form of html tag. Normal html doesn't allow you to write java code in html. HTML is like the building blocks of a webpage. We use HTML to create the structure and layout of a webpage, like text, images, and links. HTML is static, meaning it doesn't change by itself. JSP, on the other hand can make webpages more dynamic.
