I have the same installation as you, but I don't see the Java icon on System Preferences

I appreciate your work but you should have downloaded a native jdk instead of a x86 version. that would have helped a lot of new people who are coming to mac recently. There's Azulu, Liberica native jdk is available already. x86 java is very inefficient java for M1.

I have the same installation as you, but I don't see the Java icon on System Preferences It seems that with the M1 chip, everything is different from the intel chip Do you know why, and what effect does it have on the process of using java ?

Hi, Please help me out regarding this query.. Its a new desktop Mac M1. I am unable to see the Java file in system preferences and also i am getting the error message in terminal as "cd: no such file or directory: java" .. Can u please tell the procedure to set up this and provide me a link if possible.. Thanks in advance.

I think now everything is supporting on silicon chip. Honestly I haven’t tried this blue j but let me give a try.

To be honest 8 GB is more than enough. I have an 8 GB variant and I use Android Studio, IntelliJ, Xcode and other applications simultaneously and it works like a charm!!!

For me requested to install Rosseta. Why?

because it must not be compatible with apple silicon chip. So in that case you need Rosseta

It still requires to install Rosetta2. Not gonna go for this basic installation process
