I hope your travels are going well Simon! Yesterday I sat in a new Defender 90 in the Dealer showroom and discovered that the whole screen was configured in Ukrainian! Someone had fiddled with the settings but it looked rather “ cool” in a confusing way! I have no idea if my maps are upgraded but they seem to work fine when I use them. I’m well out of Warranty so I guess so are the maps! We look forward to your later video vlogs!! Richard😃😃😃😃

Thanks Simon for this information. I have a Defender 2020 however it seems i not picking from Landrover, to me i think they just switch off certain information controlling my vehicle. Have back to my garage because not happy with the help they didnt give me and cost £216 for nothing, Navigation is still not working. Any ideas on how i go about get a fix on this issue?

Yes it’s Here maps, exactly the same as my previous Volvo. If your only staying in the Uk it’s not worth doing as over the air updates keep the UK map updated. Don’t know what happens after 3 years though, when your connected navigation subscription runs out. It’s good you can still update after this time , but wonder if over the air updates will happen.

If your subscription is still active you dont appear to be able to download the update. I had issue and spoke to JLR and they advised as my 2022 has not yet expired then it will not work. Site needs updating to give a clearer message as when I entered the VIN it gave the option to download. Confusing JLR!!!

so this wouldn't work for my DS2020? i type in VIN and it says "get out you poor!" (VIN not recognised. Please check you have entered your VIN correctly or try again later.) maps in my car are outdated, there are some roads in the town that baby-disco doesn't know though android auto googlemaps and waze know.

I tried downloading the maps from the US and when I entered my VIN, it gave me the option to download the North American maps. But when I clicked the download maps button, it came back and said that my browser could not open the page as it was invalid. Has anyone seen that? I tried it many times and had the same message pop up. After some playing around, I figured out that if you download the download app first as I think Simon suggested, then it worked Sorry about that. Issue with the interface between keyboard and chair I think. :)

Land Rover want to charge me £160 for the map update for my 2016 Discovery 4 Landmark - and I can't find out how to find out the date of the existing maps. 😢 At the moment I am usng Waze on the phone - or Google maps where the destination is so remote that Waze does not have the road and I can only navigate to a Google code destination (as i had to do last month to a remote destination at the foot of Cornwall). Land Rover say the last map update for the Disco4 is 2020 ☹

Will this upgrade work for Australian road maps?
