Hey, maybe you can help me. I did all the steps and Im starting the game with Mod Engine 2 for the Grand Merchant Mod. But every time I get to the start screen it says "The Game version and save data version are different. Quit the game and use the Steam client to update game data to the latest verion before trying again." What can I do?

If so, I'll go ahead and say a bit under this comment: If you go to where he showed the depots, you can click the "copy" button next to any given manifest (the ones from january 11 are for 1.10.1, for any seamless coop players being blocked by the new dlc's update), and that'll give you an entire ready-to-use download command for the console.

You got not enough space it needs an extra space to unpack and download.

How do I change it to read only

Are you doing a new save? If you created a save on the (for example) newest version, then reverted down, I guess the save won't be able to load. You'll have to make a new save. You could copy out your stats/item onto a notepad or something then use cheat engine to spawn everything back in. Not sure what to do in terms of progression though. (Just saw some other guy say this in response to another guy with the same issue "While you have your game open, go to your window search bar and type in %appdata% then go to Elden ring and then delete the folder with the numbers. Before you do this know that it will result in you losing all of your saves, to prevent this back up your save") Maybe works? Definitely backup your save though.

@@bucket727this is correct any newer save you have would have to be deleted in your files before downpatching. You could always create a backup save if you’re worried about losing the character altogether. You’ll have to start from scratch if you already touched your save in the new patch.

@@rodrigoc.974 The fix I said worked for me, I tried it earlier. I did this exactly: Loaded the game, game told me save data was bad, I went to my save data folder (with elden ring running still) and deleted the folder with all the numbers (numbers are your steam id). Now when I pressed a button it loaded me a fresh save.

I think i found the main game files depot. But i don't understand what's the game exe depot, where can i get it?

Here's what I did: 1.- Downloaded 3 repositories from SteamDB using the steam console: - exe: "download_depot 1245620 1245624 6365523282031070954" - data: "download_depot 1245620 1245621 8868449847359611551" - DLC: "download_depot 1245620 2778580 1746314650894079894" Open the steam console: press windows key + R and type "steam://open/console" without the quotation marks; once the console is open, just copy and paste those commands (without quotation marks) one at the time, meaning: paste one and hit enter, let the content download (the console will tell you when it's done), then paste the next command. Just keep in mind: it will take a while to download everything, and there's no way to see the download progress, so you'll have to wait until the console tells you each depot is downloaded. When the download finishes, it will tell you the directory in which the depot was downloaded; I think it's usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content. Look for the folder called "app_1245620", inside it will be the 3 "depot_XXXXXX" folders. 2.- Combined the content of each downloaded depot folder in a single "Game" folder (which can be stored anywhere in your computer; just make a folder called "Elden Ring 1.12.1", and inside of it make a folder called "Game", in which you'll just drag and drop the contents from the depots you downloaded. From what I've read, it's best to not overwrite the original steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game folder, so leave that one alone for now. 3.- Made a backup of my current DLC-save (did it this morning right after learning about the patch, before launching the game). To do that: once more, press Windows+R and type "%appdata"; this will take you to AppData\Roaming. Find the EldenRing folder, open the folder with your SteamID (usually it's just one folder with a long number string, unless you play with multiple accounts) and make a copy of the ER0000.sl2 file that's inside. 4. Deleted the folder with my steamID (inside the EldenRing folder, where the save was), AND the EasyAntiCheat folder located in AppData\Roaming (I think the EasyAntiCheat folder is right below the EldenRing folder in appdata; just look for it and delete it). 5.- Changed the value for AutoUpdateBehavior to 1 in Steam\steamapps\appmanifest_1245620.acf (so the game doesn't auto-update; just look inside your steamapps folder and you'll see a lot of appmanifests - find the aforementioned one and edit the file with notepad or notepad++). 5.- Disabled Steam cloud (from steam settings). 6.- Added the "eldenring.exe" file from the new Game folder (the one created from all the combined depots) to Steam as a non-steam game. 7.- Disabled EasyAntiCheat in both Game folders (steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game and the newly created one) using the steam_appid.txt method. Go inside your ELDEN RING\Game folder (both of them) and create a txt file called "steam_appid.txt", then open it and type "1245620", then save it and close it; this will prevent EasyAntiCheat from starting when you launch the game; you'll have to make two files, one for each game folder (that's what I did to be extra sure). 8.- Launched the game (using the non-steam game executable that you added to steam, the one from the depots), started a new character and got as far as the cave of knowledge (where you get your flasks), saved and quit, then replaced the newly created save file in AppData\Roaming\EldenRing with my old DLC-save file that I backed up. I didn't have any issues when I launched the game again, the save wasn't corrupted and my old configs (graphic settings, keybinds, etc.) carried over without issue. The App version is 1.12 and the calibration version is 1.12.1. I've been playing for a bit and everything seems to run just fine. Hope this helps

You need to change the numbers since the different updates have different ones

Make sure to back up your save and delete the EasyAntiCheat folder in AppData\Roaming (otherwise the regulation version might not change to 1.12.1)

@@1oym1 Trynna do the same thing atm, I used that same main game depot, the exe i used was this download_depot 1245620 1245624 6365523282031070954. However, whenever I boot up its still on calibration patch 1.12.2, I did manage to downpatch to 1.10 so idk why its not working for me but maybe you might have some luck. That exe is for the update on June, 20th so yea idk i must've done something wrong?

@@Person-sn5ru take your first elden ring and drag it anywhere else so steam thinks you deleted it. That'll be the one you mod, and then redownload it, that'll be your main one

I drug the first one into an external HDD and then redownload the updated one on the main HDD in the computer 👍

Copy your saves in an another file and then delete the original, the game needs create new saves files for the 1.10.1 patch

If you don't know where it is, press "windows+r", type "%appdata%", ELDEN RING, and the file with a lot of numbers is the file with your saves

@@leyonneh You have to delete the save files to play through Windows R and then type : app data and then roming or local Search for a file with the name of the game and then delete the file that has many numbers then it will work with you but be careful you will lose all your saved you can instead of erase it save it somewhere else for example
