I figured I knew how to do this already and wouldn't need to watch your video, but I gave it a shot anyway and I'm so glad. The part where the water fills lower than the filter, your little hose trick to open up the floor drain and lifting up the side of the tub to allow the last bit of water out was REALLY HELPFUL. Thank you.

Thank you so, so much for this video. We have the Maldives version the same just with seats inside. We have always emptied the tub using a bucket and our carpet cleaner for the bottom plug. We have had out tub for must be 3 years and Iv just showed my husband this video for him to say oh yes I think Iv got those caps. The only one we didn’t recognise was the filter cap, however within our first year the motor went so they sent us a replacement and inside Iv just found the cap for the filter. Could have strangled him, would have if I didn’t love him so Iv forgiven him for the endless buckets n me climbing inside. We or he forgot to empty the hot tub last year as it was in the summerhouse we emptied it via buckets 🪣 placed it outside where it started life to find it was filled with all black bit, I read it’s mould build up, just wish I had seen your video first. We still have a few bits to get out but Iv got a fantastic pool hot tub rechargeable hoover it’s brilliant but thank you again for taking the time to have done this

Other thing you could do is just put the hosepipe to the bottom of the Spa and then suck the other end a few times to set up a siphon and drain it that way. Of course, this only works if the outlet is at a lower level than the base of the tub. Good tips though!

First time I drained my hot tub I rigged a hosepipe up but it was just far to slow. I've since bought a £8 pond pump from amazon, it sits in the bottom of the hot tub and drains about 10x quicker. It also allows you to tip up the tub for the dregs.

does that bottom drain hole drain water directly on the ground, or through the attached drain hose some how? I will be putting this in my house and if that last inch of water drains on to the floor, that is a problem.
@SailingAquila
@SailingAquila 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, unfortunately with most Lay-Z-Spa's the last bit just drains onto the floor. Some newer models have an extra accessory that slides under the edge of the tub to allow a hosepipe to attach to the drain hole. Otherwise, my advice is to use a bucket or pan to empty the last bit of water. You should be able to lift the tub on one side so all the water collects at the other edge to make it easier and shouldn't take too long. Good luck!

Hi Adam, I’ve just bought this unit for installing on balcony. My intention was to pump the water down the bathtub indoors without disconnecting the pump? Is this idea not possible / practical?
@SailingAquila
@SailingAquila 4 жыл бұрын
In terms of putting a hot tub on a balcony, my main concern would be weight. Mine is the best part of 1000kg when full and would be unsure if the balcony is designed to take the weight? In terms of draining, if you can get the end of the hose at the bathtub end lower than the end in the hot tub, then you should be able to syphon the water out. Good luck!

Can I add more air to the spa after filling with water?
@SailingAquila
@SailingAquila 4 жыл бұрын
You can, but to use the pump it needs disconnecting from the tub first. Also, it's harder to get the pressure up when it's full of water. I ended up covering the holes in the hose connector (the ones to stop you over-inflating) with my hands which is probably increasing the risk of putting too much pressure in. However, if it's really getting flat and 'squishy' then it'll help. Good luck!

@SailingAquila
@SailingAquila 3 жыл бұрын
It would be inevitable that you'd get some water on the floor at some point. You can attach a hose the hot tub to get the majority of the water out, the last bit is drained out of the plug at the bottom and that doesn't allow for an attachment. Plus, some water will escape when removing the pump. You'd have to syphon the water out of the tub for the best chance, perhaps with an electric pump.

Yep mines outside in direct sunlight , no issues as of yet , the only staining/discolouration issue I have had seems to have come from the multifunction chlorine tablets I use in the floater , as they have a blue outer colouring Some of it peeled off and left a couple of unremovable blue marks on the floor of the tub. I now only have one vent open on the floater and have not had any further issues

I'll upload a video of this hydrojet pro.. just like any swimming pool pump it requires backwashing.. I used a method described in the manual ( for EVERY Lazy Spa model except Hydrojet Pro (??!?¡¡¿¿) ) - it worked fine. But I'll investigate further and let you guys know.

@@gazprior hahaha you know what they say, don't trouble trouble.. it's working fine now, but recently of spotted lengthts of fibre wrapped around the discharge siphon. Which makes me think it's deteriorated filter fibres. So a backwash is soon required.

Mate, buy yourself a small pool vac, it cost about £30. It will help you to clean all that rubish without draining your tub.

Why not just use a cheap pond pump rather than disconnecting every thing. ?

Definitely the worse job you need to do with a hot tub. I ended up having to climb in my deflated tub and spend ages drying it with a towel before packing it away. Plus my lid somehow got water in it so I had to squeeze that all out. Also there was no way on god's earth the hot tub was fitting in the original box, I couldn't even get it to fit nicely in the massive box you get with the spa!

Bro, I tried watching but your music was so LOUD I could not hear you saying. Try not to have any music when talking it is just confusing.

Yes it’s informative, but even more detail would help. Your music mix is too loud btw. I presume the water from the bottom outlet just floods out onto the floor, you didn’t show that. It helps to unscrew the water outlet last, so as to be quickest to attach the hose. Good jacuzzi though I agree.

Don't flood your Neighbour's garden as mine is, its selfish and uncalled for. My neighbour empties his tub everyday, dumping water into my garden now I have a swamp. Show some consideration towards your Neighbour's, taking the legal route.

Hate to say it when someone is trying to help, but utterly unwatchable with that racket going on.

Sorry about that. It sounded fine on my laptop - just a slight background noise - but you're not the first to be frustrated by how loud the music is. I've stopped having any background music on my more recent videos.
