Chris this is really probably more helpful than you know because for people who want to animate by drawing, like on a tablet, there's not much to show where the legs go. This shows exactly what I needed to see--that the far two legs make the point of the V-shape, and the forelegs in the drawing are the top of the V. Thanks so much! Now on to a Bear Walking. . .

A wonderful example of flow and movement to keep your character interesting. 💛 One of the things I love about all your videos is you are unafraid to scrap any part--or all--of something if it's "off". When you ditched the head, I thought, "Oh what a sweet head... Oh. Nope.... Well of course that new head is better!" This erasure was obvious but so many of your videos you are not afraid to erase and redraw even if it's just millimeter. It feeling right is more powerful than any "rule". I thank you for that! Thank you for that. If you allow yourself the freedom to draw in a sketchy manner, it takes the pressure off to try to get it perfectly the first time.

This is a wonderful video and drawing! But for such a happy cat, the tail is in the wrong position. When cats are happy and confident, they walk with their tail straight up in the air and the very tip pointing toward their head.

I don't know how your particular school paper works. They must have an editor. That's usually the person to approach. I would send them, or show them, three finished comic strips. Good luck!

Do you think a dog walks in the same way as a cat?

The gate is the same, but the execution is different. Cats walk in a slinkier way, and therefore, the "drag" of the paws is more exaggerated. "Drag" is an animation term that indicates how one part of the figure lags behind the others.
