I appreciate the kind words. Like many of us, I used to draw a lot in childhood but stopped as I entered college and the workforce. Now in my 50's, I'm leaning on past experiences to relearn how to draw. A systematic approach is what I've had most success with so far. Thanks for watching!

I currently have been outlining with a .28mm uniball signo dx pen. It is makes the finest line I have found and works well with watercolor paper. I'd like to find a dip pen nib that is similar in line weight (or the finest available). What would you recommend? I have tried Crow quill, but find them to be a little thicker. Thanks!

Hi, the smallest nib made by Speedball is their 104. It doesn't carry much ink, so I've only used it once to touch up a tiny detail. I think Gillott would have an equivalent size or perhaps thinner.

I have a question: How long does one nib last? I bought a few nibs, and I particularly love one of them. The Baignol & Farjon Academique nib. Now, I'm considering buying spares. What do you think?

A well maintained nib will last hundreds of hours. I have a Hunt 101 that's lasted longer than that. Though it's not a bad idea to have spares, an accidental roll off the table or snag can damage the tines, then it's done for.
