Did you check this video? kzfaq.info/get/bejne/atV0f7CklpepqKc.html Activity G has multiple predecessors, and so does Activity H. Then this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p7p1payHm7XVfJs.html has the same general form, but more complicated relationships with lag. Hope it helps!

You take the largest Early Finish of all predecessors as the Early Start of the successor. I recommend taking an hour or so to watch videos 1-9 here: engineer4free.com/project-management

Hey, check out this tutorial: www.engineer4free.com/4/use-forward-and-backward-pass-to-determine-project-duration-and-critical-path Activity G and Activity H have multiple predecessors. There's no Gantt chart in the video, but there is a PDM network diagram that shows ES & EF which can are just the left and right ends (respectively) of a bar in a Gantt chart.

How do you end up with a total of 11 days, If the total duration when added is 22 days?

The sum of all activities is a meaningless number unless they all happen consecutively, for example, B can only start once A is done, C can only start once B is done, D can only start once C is done, and so on.... Imagine an example with 4 activities (A,B,C,D) that are each 5 days long, if the table of dependencies showed that D can start once C is done, C can start once B is done, B can start once A is done, and A is the beginning of the project, then the project duration would be 20 days like you're suggesting. Now if the table of dependencies said instead that D AND C can start when B is done, B can start when A is done, and A is the beginning of the project, then the project duration would only be 15 days, with activities C and D running at the same time, with both finishing at the same time, at the end of the project. The activity relationships stated in the table of dependencies are key to creating the gantt chart which then reveals the project duration. I'd recommend watching video #1 here: engineer4free.com/project-management and then exploring further into the videos after!

ABDULMOIZ AHMER I made up the example and checked it before I made this video, so in order to not waste space on the screen I just made the Gantt chart area the appropriate size. I could have guessed and made the space 15 days long and then just not used some of it... doesn't matter!

You need to select the larger value (early finish) from the two predecessors as the start (early start) of the successor. See videos 4 - 9 here: engineer4free.com/project-management 👌
