All that you draw is really beautiful miss. Your drawings are splendid! Could you please also help in telling that how can we keep soft pastel drawings preserved for longer till we frame them so that the colour doesn't slowly fade away? I drew a number of soft pastel drawings but their color faded......

Avidha! If I understood correctly, you asked how to fix the pastel picture. I do not use fixatives, as they greatly obscure the artwork. I put tracing paper on top of the picture to avoid mechanical damage. Or I use a frame with glass and a mat (Passepartout), which provides the necessary distance between the picture and the glass.

Is it absolutely necessasry to use Rembrandt soft pastels? Could it possibly be substituted with Faber Castell's instead?

You can choose pastel shades of the brands that you use.

I love your work!!! have you ever tried oil pastels? I would love to see you use those ,as your paintings are beautiful!!!!!!!! not everyone likes oil pastels. I like the no dust factor. I love this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! colors are so pretty!!!!!!!!!!

I love your ART!👍 I try not to use the references in an unchanged form, always add something of my own, complete the composition or draw in Photoshop from scratch, and then in the material. But with animals it is more difficult, it is necessary to know the anatomy, and for this to look a lot of photos from different angles. I use Pinterest for this if I haven't owned photo materials. P.S. I hope you Understand me. My English is not Perfect! My native language is Russian.😊🎨 I'm VERY glad to communicate!💗

Shalini! Thank for your question. On plain white paper is not desirable. Need a special paper for pastels or tinted abrasive paper. The surface must be wide so that the layer of pastels can linger on it.

Sunita! You can use paper for pastels in gray or black shades.

I recommend using tinted paper (black or gray), but not white. In this video, I use ordinary sandpaper, which you can buy at a hardware store. Granularity 1000, size 23x28 cm.
