How to draw and paint Lotus Flowers

Hi guys! I'm back with another flower tutorial. This time it's the lotus flower as suggested by Jai Ganesh. I painted this more loosely this time so hopefully it's still understandable. I actually enjoyed painting the leaves and their un textures, so I hope you will enjoy it too! Happy painting!

I cannot believe this!!! I have tried over and over to paint this flower for my sister and just could not get it right! It symbolizes strength and perseverance and i wanted to paint it for her as a gift as she just completed her PhD. After a lot of time (and paper) I gave up. As fate would have it, just this morning your video was recommended! I am now once again inspired. You explained it so well...and i was relieved when you said it is not the easiest flower to paint. Lol😄 I immediately subscribed and am looking forward to learning more from you during my watercolor journey 🌺 Thank you!

Gorgeous! I have been asking teachers in all the videos I follow to do a lotus - a very special flower for me and my dad. I have been trying for a long time and have trouble separating the petals. Thank you so much for tackling this beautiful flower. You did it perfectly.

I'm so happy to hear that! My paintings tend to be a bit fast, so if you decide to paint along, you can try pausing in between so you can work at your own pace :))

I did this painting with acriliyc and watercolor and the watercolor painting turned out better but I still like the acriliyc painting. I had followed your tutorials they are very helpful

A beautiful lotus piece✨. You finally splashed a drop of paint🌌. The impression is completely different before and after it is scattered👌✨. After it was scattered, it became a more attractive work because the lively feeling of life increased💗.

🎨🖌Thank you, Nia, 🙏❤I learned some new things today from your 🌺 lotus video. Thus is so lovely and you explain everything so well. I really appreciate your generosity and that you take the time to share your knowledge with people like me that were not fortunate enough to be able to go to school to learn this wonderful, exasperating medium, lol. I am glad to see that your hand has healed and you are not in so much discomfort. 🥰 🇨🇦 There is a colour that is called "flesh" , in coloured pencils anyway. It was called that colour before everything had to be politically correct. The is always someone who has to bring negativity to such a kind person. I am sorry that person had to be so rude as to throw that comment at you. 😥 unfortunately a sign of the times.

I'm so happy that you're enjoying and learning new things from this video :D:D It always brings me joy to know that the tutorials could actually help out. And I totally agree that it's an exasperating medium indeed xD haha I get flares here and there where I need to rest my hands for about 3-4 days but It's definitely not as painful as the first flare (thank goodness) xD I'm still unable to cook or clean much but hey.. it's really better than nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️ Yea I thought that there was actually a colour called "flesh tone" haha It kinda hit me later that it was out of political correctness, since it's a huge thing in the US these days.. If that's the case, that would be very difficult to throw a disclaimer every I use that colour 😅

I don't really post portraits, even though I draw them sometimes, but portraits are probably the hardest thing to teach in terms of form, you might want to check out proko, he's very detailed and informative, and that's where I actually get most of my information when I try to draw or paint portraits :))

So happy you're enjoying the videos! This is the masking fluid that I usually use www.amazon.com/Winsor-Newton-Masking-Fluid-75ml/dp/B005P1ROEY since that's probably the most available one I can get in my country. There might be better ones but I haven't really tried them out..
