I need dry fire in my training routine! I just retired and was already doing range live fire drills 3 of 4 Saturdays a month with our club - Texas Defensive Shooting Club. I now have time to do some indoor (stay out of the Texas heat) dry fire training with my Staccato P and Sig P365XL. Thanks Jerry and Mantis X!

We used the Mantis a lot when I was an active duty Marine. When I retired, I bought one and use it several times a week. Great training tool. Thanks for the video!

"we're going to see what your shooting proficiency is like" Jerry sets the bar pretty darned high (even if he hasn't practiced much this year) :)

I retired last year and decided to take up shooting for both self-defense and as a sport. I am waiting on my LTC from (Massachusetts) the state so I can get started. I have taken a couple of live lessons as well as online lessons. Everyone has stressed the importance of dry fire. I have checked out many of the available dry fire products and it seems to me that Mantis is far and away the best tool. Can't wait to get started.

Amazing system! I try and do dry fire practice every day or two, and since being disabled and on a fixed income makes it hard to get out even in the best of times, this is something that can actually show results. I'm sure I could even get my wife in on the action! This is truly revolutionary!

My wife and I use the Mantis. We love it. It’s interesting to me to see Jerry engage with it and warm up to it. At first, you kind of get the feeling that he was irritated having to do the demo and that this was just some sponsor obligation. Then, the more he saw what this was doing and how well it worked, he really seemed to like it.

I picked up my X10 last September and absolutely love it. So far, I have logged over 35,000 shots and am pleased with my overall and consistent improvements. Gotta' say, the technical feedback of this tool is brutally honest and quite humbling, although quite necessary if you are serious about wanting to become a better shooter. When I began, my averages were in the low 80's. Since then, they have improved to consistently dry firing in the mid to upper 90's. Recently, I've started focusing on my Holster Draw Analysis. Boy, that drill will make a BIG dent in your overall average, but the feedback will let you know exactly what you need to focus on to improve. In my opinion, there's not much benefit in practicing just to maintain a high average if you invested the time in developing those skills you will really need when it comes to defending yourself in a quick holster draw situation. I can already tell I will be investing many hours with this drill. By the way, using my Mantis Laser Academy (in the Open Training mode) while practicing with my X10 Holster Draw Analysis drill also provides feedback on my target accuracy. Love all of the Mantis products and their customer support is top notch if you have questions!

This is a great aid for personal defense training as well. Help train good muscle memory and show you bad or useles action before it becomes a habitual behavior. espcially the trigger control, i was very impressesed with how accurately it shows minor deviations.

I own and have used the MantisX exclusively for my dry fire training since September 2021. It is without a doubt the best training tool for dry fire I have come across. I train our church Security Team and have endorsed this product since my exposure to it, several members now own their own units. I’m old school, and like Jerry, I liked to take a bucket of bullets to the range and train but those days have disappeared for the time being, so the MantisX is the next best thing in my opinion!

Oh my goodness. This is like an omen. My husband and I just left the gun shop and we were discussing our most recent training class and the subject of my mechanics came up. I seriously will be looking into purchasing one unless I end up being blessed with this one. Great tips and videos sir. Keep them coming.

Definitely one of the most effective training tools in my arsenal. This tool has drastically increased my shooting abilities...plus it helped my wife get a near-perfect score on her LTC qualification. I typically use it for the holster draw analysis and enjoy the drills and marksmanship benefits.

I've had my Mantis X10 for almost 3 years now, one thing that I like to use it for that I don't see anyone else doing is when I'm testing new handloads. I can get more reliable data when looking at the groups if I have the data from the X10 letting me see my fault in it. Better and more consistent data contributes to better and more consistent ammo.

I've had a X3 for a while now... still working and has made a huge improvement in my shooting... if I'm at the range or dry firing at home my MantisX 3 is always on my G19. What a great tool and great build/design/engineering! I can't wait until I can my hands on the X10, I need the holster draw analysis in my life, best thing since sliced bread IMO

Kudos to Jerry for showing us his weaknesses. Not a lot of men are humble enough to do that…of course, he’s still better than all of us. I’d love to have a Mantis X. I head up a church security team and we could use it to practice without having to spend personal fortunes on ammo. Thanks for the gear drawing Jerry. It was great to have the chance to meet you and Lena at Freedom Days in Phoenix and thanks for the autographed shotgun shell. It’s on my shelf with the rest of my treasures.

Well, I own every product Mantis makes, although I am eagerly awaiting the new, improved Blackbeard. I improved the quality of my shooting dramatically using the X10--put thousands of "rounds" of dry fire through it which saved me having to get that second mortgage on the house to afford ammunition. Lately, I have been using the X10 a lot to attempt to improve my recoil control: the data allows you to swap between a "standard" thumbs-forward grip and the Miculek "finger-in-front-of-the-trigger-guard" grip and get quality, actionable data to be able to get back on target faster. I love the thing, and try to use it every day for at least the "daily challenge" and some holster draw, because, importantly, it's fun! On a side note, you gotta admire the stones on Austin to be able to say "we're going to see what your shooting proficiency is like" to the greatest shooter of all time! =D

I'm a combat wounded vet from Iowa that very recently started getting into pistol shooting. I was military trained but recently took private lessons and learned so much. I need way more time in dry fire. I just recently setup a place on my property where I can shoot handguns out to 30 yards. My time is very limited due to my strange work schedule. I do dry fire a couple times a week, and try to live fire at least once a week, normally using 50 round drills at varying distances. Single shots, doubles and multi target variants. Even being a bullet caster and reloader components shortages have severally shortened time spent live fire. This would be a great tool to get.maximum Input and.results to optimize dry fire time, and look for better results in live fire drills. Thanks for taking the time to demo this system to us.

This “Mantis X” would be the perfect companion for me when I’m trying out new holsters or similar gear. My local indoor ranges won’t let me draw from the holster, so I could use the Mantis X to know what my draw is like, and then shoot at the range from the low ready. Anything that helps sharpen my skills is awesome, but to do so without having to spend a bunch of extra on ammo is amazing!

This is s great idea. Dry fire training is something I used to do more of back when ammo was more affordable ironically. I used to shoot more proof but these days, while I carry, I can't really afford to shoot much which put a damper on my enthusiasm for practice. I think picking one of these up would be a great way to get back into draw training

I’m relatively new to shooting, less than 2 years. I’ve primarily used my X10 to learn better control of a pistol as I pull the trigger. At this point it’s all been about using it to consistently hit the 10 ring. What I love about this product is that it continually helps me improve even as I gain experience.

I used to shoot local and state USPSA and IDPA. I usually finish in the middle of the pack, just to give you an idea of where I was. Nothing special at all. I had some back surgeries that didn't go well. So........I haven't been able to shoot much for about 5 years. I would like to get some ideas about how bad I am now, and what I need to work on. My draw to first shot was never great. So that's it. Great watching you Jerry.

In my latter years not being able to visit the gun range as often and coupled with ammo prices on a fixed income, I would find this a very helpful defensive concealed carry practice tool that I could use often ( more often than actual range time ), probably daily.........This could also aid in my coaching my siblings and their "puppys" proper handling and control............T.Y. for the opportunity !!

I got the I-Target system some years back, before learning about Mantis. Where I live you have to drive a bit to go to an outdoor range so I don't get as much live fire time as I would like. Indoor ranges are good but many don't allow you to draw from a holster. What I like about the Mantis tool is the analysis of how your handling the firearm whereas I-Target only shows your shot placement via laser. I like the concept of the Mantis since you can use it while dry firing or live firing. I would like to try it at home to practice. Maybe in combination with the I-Target.

I'd setup the Mantis indoors in the evenings so both my wife and I could get more time handling our EDC guns It's hard to find a time when both of us can get to the range, so it typically gets put off. I'd use it for drawing concealed carry practice from a normal position instead of the ready position. Just to be more realistic in my training as to what would be real world since I don't compete.
