I love how you said that a hairstyle can look pretty much any way and look good as long as you keep the flow correct! That really helps, especially if you are doing a large and unique hairstyle!

5:13 it's called a french braid, and yes, it's EXTREMELY common! I do it all the time :)

Answers to you video questions. First you asked if this is a normal hair style (the crown braid) and the answer is Yes! My sister wears it all the time and so do many other girls. That braid that your drawing is a French Braid you take hair and add it to the braid so, when you asked is the connecting the hair to the braid normal, the answer is also YES. I love that you were so detailed even when you don't know everything about it. You were asking about what to call the sections of hair in previous videos, and I was thinking about it and I like the word strands, bundles, pieces. You’re art work is Beautiful. I love it, you inspire so many and hope you never stop making videos.

Just found your channel looking for how to draw hair. THANK YOU for not doing time lapse! It's so hard to find videos that are just full drawings and not fast forward the entire time. I love how you talk and flow easily through the videos. I've never drawn Manga characters but my daughter does. I'll have to show her your videos. Thank you for taking the time to sketch out and explain how to draw.

I can see it now the Left Face is a Queen that was forced to live her Life in Loneliness and not able to leave the Castle. While the Face on the right is a girl who is happy to be free but is afraid to be out on her own. Interesting Mark!

Of all the "how to draw hair" videos I have studied on KZfaq, I found this one to be the best for my current needs. "How to draw [specific style of] hair" seems to be the most useful. Everything else out there is too general. Thank you.

What you are doing in the first hair style with the braid is called a 'lace dutch braid'. I do the braid portion all the time in my daughters hair. I've been subscribed to your channed for several years now and love your vidios to bits, whether I am looking for some specific help with something or just having you going in the backfround while I do my own illustration work. your great motivator and insparation for me. to be honest, i started to watch your videos more for entertainment (you're a funny guy with a calming voice) and not for drawing tips as such.(im a digital artist who style has evolved beyond a manga/anime style, the influence is still there, but its means your videos might be less useful to me than an anime/manga artist who draws on paper) but this was useful for shading hair, so thanks! I starting drawing from how to draw manga books (i'm 24, i wish i had yours 10+ years ago, they look great!) i want to make my own graphic novel someday (maybe in the summer when i don't have so much uni work to do!) so more videos on the process would be great (your other videos on the subject are great by the way) keep up the good work!

(You asked for people to share if the first hairstyle was common) the hairstyle itself with the wrap around braid isn't common per say but the "French braid" type of hairstyle pulling the hair from the scalp into the braid is fairly common from what I've seen and what I personally do with my hair :)

Mark I hope you see thiiiiisss!! I walked into my English teachers to see two of your very own drawings and I ask him how he got them. He said he got them from you, and he knows you personally. His name is Mr. Brooks I don't know if you remember him but he said you went to his school for a "show in tell" sort of thing. I never knew you lived near me!!! I told a couple of my friends about this story and they were like I WANT TO MEET HIM. I don't think that's possible but I just wanted to tell you about this.

I would love a video on curly hair! I have characters with curly hair, and can never find a way to 'simplify' it. Its always just ends up looking like like realistic hair slapped on a stylized drawing. A how-to would be very appreciated.

I believe that the "radical hairstyle" that you're referring to is a loose french/dutch braid. :)

These hairstyles are simply wonderful, Crilley! I especially like the wavy bun ^_^ Both have given me a few ideas actually, to the sketchpad!! Also, with how common 'Old Man Timelapse' (or I guess now "Old Timelapse Man" XD) is in your videos, I'm honestly surprised nobody's given him an actual design! You should do that! I'm tempted to myself as a little thank you for posting all these wonderful videos. The advice you give is always very helpful! I don't know, what do you think? Maybe Old Man Timelapse doesn't want to show his face X3 Anyway, another great video, Crilley! I can't wait to see what you decide to show us next!
