In the 2012 movie "The Amazing Spider-Man," the Lizard is the villainous alter ego of Dr. Curt Connors, a scientist and former colleague of Peter Parker's father. Dr. Connors lost his right arm and devoted his research to regenerating it, leading him to experiment with lizard DNA in the hopes of regrowing limbs. However, the experiments had unexpected side effects and transformed him into a giant humanoid lizard with enhanced strength, agility, and regenerative abilities. As the Lizard, Dr. Connors became a dangerous threat to both Spider-Man and the citizens of New York City.
