Fantastic video as usual , I do use this technique of combining markers and pencils together quite a lot when coloring in my adult coloring books , your quite right it saves so much time and doesn’t wear your pencils down so fast .Love your channel, you have such a wonderful personality,it really shines through , you always put a smile on my face . I have recently just got back into sketching and colouring its very therapeutic. I received my new prismascolour pencils and purchased ohuhu markers last week. This is so so helpful thankyou from a grateful mumma getting some me time 💜🙌

Yesterday I found this tutorial, sketched a doughnut and within like 45 minutes my colouring had improved 10 fold, thank you so much! Normally I just learn towards markers only for illustration, but I'm going to incorporate this.

I have a similar style when using colored pencils, except I use them with my watercolors (which are my main and first medium). Pencils are great for details and adding some slight shift in color in some parts of the illustration. I only have a set of skin tone and gray markers, but maybe I'll try using them with my pencils too!

Yet another awesome video! I have wondered in the past why I didn’t inherit the artistic creativity that my mothers side of the family had (I got the English professor genes 🤓) With every one of Sarah’s videos I learn something that really encourages me and I find myself really enjoying just the whole act of coloring…. in some ways more even than I used to when I was into coloring, when my children were very little Coloring, drawing and painting were tools I used daily and with much (fun) success when all my kids were little. Everyone totally enjoyed creating with them. I am positive that it made my (clinical) depression more manageable. I find that coloring and “aromatherapy” which to me means going through my ton of scented lotions and picking them up at random and smelling them. LOL umm…candles. There’s a brand I really like but they are just not price friendly for me

Watching this way too late. I'm drawing since a long time but with lots of breaks and coloring was always something I wanted to learn without keeping an eye on references all the time. It's really impressive how you bring motives to life. The only thing I'm struggling with is the right paper. I used bristol one from Strathmore which is better than Deleter in my opinion. The vellum one I didn't know and it's hard to find in Germany same as Prismacolors :( 🙈 I like watching your vids ♡

Thanks for this video!! I’ve combined colored pencils and markers before but watching this video made me realize I should do it more often!! I actually just finished a coloring page yesterday that had this massive moon in the background and I didn’t like it very much and I didn’t want it to be the focus of the page but it took longer to color than the entire rest of the page combined, which was frustrating for me and I ended up hating that stupid moon by the time I was done! Now I see I could have saved SO much time by coloring it with a marker first and then just adding a few shadows and highlights at the end with my pencils. Good to know for the future! Side note, my three year old found the coloring page on the table this morning, said “this is trash now” and crumpled it into a ball and threw it in the trash so… there’s that.

quick inquiry I recently bought myself some Aqua Brushes with a 2 in 1 pencil one side being your regular marker from germany made by llyra I was just wondering if they were worth the hundred dollars I spent on them and if they act as a good substitute for water coloring if you dont want to get all your water and your paints out and paint traditionally - I also love how you took your shot at the end. Its a shame that Shane didn't come through tho

Could someone explain the step where she highlighted the doughnut with white then went over it again in another colour to make it smooth? How does that work? I'm no artist, just wanting to pick up little tips for my colouring books lol.

Seriously was thinking of trying this. I have ohuhu markers, but am not great a blending them and doing large areas with pencils is so time consuming!

Hello, do you know which set of ohuhu markers you purchased by chance? I have a few sets but don't have all the colors. I have the pastel sets (blossom and sweetness) of 96 markers and a set of 48 colors from the Honolulu B series. I also have the the 120 set of water based markers but IDK if the numbers correlate. I'm trying my hand at this and will hopefully film/share soon but I really would love to do a follow along of yours first as practice! Thanks again for all you and your team do. can you go into more detail about the shadowing and highlighting.. I know shadowing would be the darker hue of the color, and highlight the light, but how do you know where to put each one.....
