As a beginner, I thought drawing faces is just not yet for me but then I remembered chommang said something like U can't draw faces bc u can't draw the head properly. So I started writing a guideline without the face shape but only the eyes nose and the lips and IT TURNED OUT TO BE GREAT! So for those of u who r struggling with the whole face/head structure just try what I did and slowly improve and learn how to draw the head

i've started drawing since i was a child. for the longest time, this is the method i followed but with no guidelines, no body frame guides, just drawing immediately. i sketched pokemon and Ragnarok Online a lot. but then at about high school, everyone told me that i was doing it wrong. even youtube sketching guides would say im doing it wrong. now, years later and im now an adult, i saw your sketches and realized that they were all wrong. there is never one way to sketch and everyone has their own thing they do to achieve the art they want. i lost my passion when i started college and stopped art all together. now, even though i'm working an industrial job, you've encouraged me to take up art again and i thank you so much for it.

as one who is frustrated with guide lined drawings as I mess up proportions. practicing freely really helps to ease the frustration, it's a fun practice and I would say a style of art I want to master. though making 'mature drawings' with guidelines can be fun, we all make it fun in our own way, but we forget we don't have to, we could've just practiced free drawing and it works great. Not a significant amount of 'beauty' in the drawing is removed, but we do gain a lot more fun out of it. everything I do ' ' for is to say that though we perceive things that way, it isn't 100% true, a drawing without guidelines can actually be more mature.
