GET SOME MEZCAL FOR YOUR FINE SELF: drizly.sjv.io/ORmDeZ Hey friends! Sorry for such the delay between videos. I was having some back issues so I wasn’t feeling super motivated but I’m feeling better and should be back on the grind! Next video we are taking a look at something from China 👀

Stay on that grind, these vids are so fun. Id say try to go daily but i think your liver would disagree. Seriously tho, 900 subs with 4 videos is unheard of for such a new channel, keep up the good work! Its only up from here!

Jumping on the comment bandwagon, I'd like to say that I really appreciate the less flamboyant and more to the point video format that's concise and informative, while also being entertaining. That being said, as a Brazilian, I'd love to see your take on Cachaça and experiment on Caipirinhas and the renowned Rabo de galo (literal translation is Cocktail).

Never been served mezcal room temp so I’ve never served it that way. Great info! Been subscribed since the everclear video. Love when you incorporate some history in the videos. As an idea: I’ve had a bottle of benedictine in my cabinet for a year - why does this stuff exist, what am I supposed to do with it, and the unanswerable question: why did I buy it in the first place?

Hey man, literally stumbled upon your channel like two days ago. I watched your tequila video before this and its absolute quality. Straight to the point and no bluff. Being born and raised in Mexico, I always appreciate people taking the time to learn our culture and traditions. I found myself finishing your sentences especially with this Mescal video since my dad has taught me most of this stuff. Keep up the great work man there is definitely a space for you to shine and grow your content . Fun fact: In some parts of Mexico, they will sell you a Mescal bottle with a worm inside of it lol, kinda tying it to the sal de gusano also my granpa distills his own mescal in his workshop, just wanted to share. again keep at it !!!!

Hey Pablo! I can't say enough how much I appreciate this comment. I'm always nervous that when I release a video, that I didn't honor a culture well enough or that I missed something or that I said something that wasn't true or accurate. Its really a relief to hear that I am on the right track! Stoked to have you along for the ride! ✊

Oaxacan mezcal is the most popular and commercially sold, however it’s not the birthplace of mezcal. Many regions in Mexico produce mezcal and have been granted appellation of origin. In my opinion, mezcal produced in the states of Guerrero and Michoacán which use the cupreata agave are one of the better tasting mezcal. It’s a little bit harder to find than espadín but if you can find it, it’s a very delicious mezcal. Always drink blanco, mezcal was never intended to be reposado or añejo. Just my two cents, love your content man and keep it up. You won yourself a new subscriber

I usually make Margaritas with Mezcal. I use Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, and I just follow a standard Margarita recipe, I just swap Tequila with Mezcal. I prefer this over the traditional Margarita. I personally enjoy the smokiness of Mezcal, and it adds another layer of complexity to a margarita, it’s so good. Cheers! Awesome vid btw.

Just found your channel and loving your videos! Going to have to try the worm salt for sure. I've found that adding Mezcal to any cocktail that calls for Tequila also adds a fantastic layer. For example, in a Tequila Sunrise, instead of using 2 oz of Tequila, use 1-1/2 oz Tequila and 1/2 oz Mezcal - AMAZEBALLS!

Got recommended your everclear video, and really enjoyed it! Glad to see the rest of your videos are also super high quality and informative! I'm excited to share these with my siblings and have them see both some history of the drinks and some ideas for cocktails and drinks or in this case food to serve with it :) I really love how you take the time to go through the information of the drinks and explain it with some fun edits The only thing I can recommend to you is to try and have less cuts in the videos, it felt very jumpy and disconnected for some of the parts in here, especially when you said similar things in the cuts sometimes I subscribed and liked the videos, and I'm looking forward to more content from you! Super dope stuff, take care of yourself along the journey, since I know you're gonna blow up!

worm salt is absolutely amazing, both in the traditional preparation and as a cocktail ingredient. Go to mezcal cocktail is 1.5~2oz espadin (or ensemble) mezcal, 0.5oz Montenegro Amaro stirred in iced and strained, worm salt rim, thin-sliced orange garnish in either a coupe or rocks glass.

Will you be making cocktails? New tequila and Mezcal cocktails would be awesome to see.

Hey Carlos! I'm thinking about potentially making KZfaq shorts for cocktail recipes. Would you like that or keep it in a longer video?
@CarlosG0224
@CarlosG0224 2 жыл бұрын
@@SlightlyCultured why not both? I like shorts, but sometimes need a more thorough explanations that shorts don’t allow for.

I really appreciate that Joshua! I actually just bought another bottle of Mezcal to try out and both bottles I've had, I've really enjoyed. So if you do end up getting it, I think he'll love it!

I normally don’t comment on videos actually i never comment on videos but i like all your videos so full of positive happy energy and maybe that’s the reason i’m writing this comment, i was just wondering if you do a video between 2 tequilas American y mexican example my sister loves tequila and her husband too so she told me to buy her a tequila in mexico (tijuana) so i bought the tequila Don Julio 70 (40 dollars in tijuana) so she thank me and told that the Don Julio 70 American (89 dollars us) version tasted different and is way more expensive, i can’t tell the differents, sorry if this is a long comment and keep making these can of vids with the same energy!

First off, I'm honored that you would take the time to comment! Secondly, hmmm you know I never thought about the difference between tequila in mexico vs in the US. I will be traveling to mexico sometime this year so maybe I'll pick up a bottle and see!

Hey do you think you'll be able to find the time to cover Cachaça? I would love to learn more about the Caipirinha and it's history to become the national drink of Brazil!

I don’t know how you made alcohol interesting but you did! I only drink gin and cider 😂 so I learned a few new things today thanks! A bacon smelling drink sounds good even if it doesn’t taste like it. Is this your first time making videos or did you learn somewhere else first?
@SlightlyCultured
@SlightlyCultured 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Oren! Glad you enjoyed! Just want to clarify that the worm salt smelled like bacon, not the Mezcal (sorry to dissapoint)! I've had like 1 or 2 very small youtube channels (less than 100 subs) so I learned the basics there and then learned ALOT before making this channel through research and planning!

Mezcal's birthplace is not Oaxaca, and it's not tequilas "rival" - All tequila is Mezcal, not all mezcal is tequila. Nice set up you got there. Good choice with Montelobos.
