I went from an 18' outboard drive to a 28' inboard. Learned fast there was a lot i didnt know about boat handling. Joined a U,S, Power Squadron unit and learned a ton from some veteran boaters. Thank heaven for that. Wish there were videos like this when I started serious boating. Keep up the good work.

That explains why I have trouble maneuvering my little, flat-bottom canal boat I recently built and am now trying to drive with an outboard here in Tasmania! It spins on the spot but goes like a sailboat when the wind gets up. Blessings to you all.

I have learned a lot watching your videos. I spent last summer converting a 21-foot Wellcraft cuddy to a center console and found your channel on replacing a transom. I was able to complete my project and your video gave me enough to info to complete my project, so thank you. #Boatlife

I'm US military stationed in Europe. It's always been my dream to buy a center console, but because of the uncertainty of being stationed overseas the past few years, it's highly impractical to buy a boat. Hopefully my last couple of years of service will bring me back to the states, maybe Florida...... in the meantime a BAB shirt would be nice 😁😁😁

I really enjoy the information on your videos. I'm not super familiar with outboards, so anytime you have a video that focuses on them, I really pay attention. My buddy is looking for a tri-toon and they are primarily equipped with these type of motors. I am very mechanically inclined, as he is not, so I want to be able to help with the search of a solid tri-toon and maintenance in the future. Keep up the great work and have a good week!!!

Thank you for these useful tips! I did not know about trimming the engine out for better steering in reverse. I own a Windy 8000 which is a Norwegian boat most people probably don’t know. However, it was designed by the same man who designed the Nasty Class patrol boats which was used by the US in the 60’s. I think that’s a pretty cool pedigree #Boatlife

Thanks for your videos. I own a 5 meter cabin boat with a 50hp Suzuki outboard. I am always pretty stressed when I have to dock in a narrow canal because there is not much space to turn and position the bow right between the other boats. My hull is pretty "flat" and the boat keeps sliding, especially when it's windy. I am sure your next videos will be very helpful. #Boatlife

I have a regal 28 ft bow rider with a counter rotating Volvo penta duo prop. It is so difficult to steer with the one engine in tight places especially trying to fit a 9 ft into a 10 or 12 ft boat slip at the Lake of the Ozarks. It is difficult to anticipate with the wakes coming in off the main channel. Patience is always the best medicine.

Heavier loads can cause difficulties. Prop walk and prop wash in reverse in mild wind and a heavy load sometimes means I can't get the boat to turn at all. I'll try raising the prop next time. In the meantime, give everyone an oar to help avoid obstacles, and ask them to not shift their weight. 😀
