In this tutorial, I'll guide you through the art of dry brushing large miniature terrain, aiming for outstanding results. I'll share three simple yet expert tips to help you achieve the most out of your work without a lot of effort.
The amazing thing about this dry brush method is that it lays the groundwork for other special effects, if you choose to push your work further. So, while the painting workflow I show in the video works great as a standalone process for painting large models, e.g., terrain, vehicles, it also serves as a springboard for other advanced miniature painting techniques.
Here are the three basic ways to improve your dry brushing immediately on your miniatures:
1. Start with a good, solid base coat of color
2. Use the largest dry brush you can find with resilient, stiff bristles
3. Optimize the way you apply the dry brush pigment to your model, angling the brush and moving across the working surface to reveal raised texture
