Amazing plants!

How would you use it for pain? As seasoning? Make it a powder and mix it in a drink.? Curious. I’m currently taking cayenne pepper capsules for back pain but would love to know what else is out there . Thank you.

Importantly, how much to consume?

Hey Michael, with the mold, I've seen that where the Rosemary either isn't dehydrated all the way, or, its a really moist environment and the dried Rosemary is actually pulling moisture out of the air.

More drying may help. Store in a jar and check for moisture every few days. If you notice moisture then dry more

I add a desiccant and store mine (after dehydrating) in glass jars. Look up moisture packets or silica desiccant for food storage. Good luck!

When you say mold, what did the mold look like? Little white fuzzy things on the ends on the stem side? I looked at that under a microscope, and it looks like that is the male portion of the plant. When you look at it under a microscope, you will see two white fuzzy pods on each side of the main stem, at the base of the leaves. Not every leaf will have them, but I noticed that every 4 to 5 inches, you will see these white fuzzy object coming out of the stem.

@@laurenmauk5118 yes, it should. Mulch heavily, water diligently before winter, and grow in an area with good drainage and limited exposure and you should be good

Hi Kaitlyn! I'm in Canada and I have never brought it inside. Albeit, we are on the west coast, so it is quite mild. Rosemary is quite tolerant of cold zones with most varieties sold in your area probably hardy to Zone 5. If you are bringing it inside, you can definitely harvest no problem all year. You can actually harvest when the plant is cold and dormant....its the time BEFORE dormancy that is the most challenging because the act of cutting causes the plant to branch out new growth. That new growth will freeze and die if you do that too late in the season. Indoors, you should be ok though!

Hi Lydia, yes Rosemary flowers are completely edible and safe to eat, safe for things like tea!

The thicker stems can be used as a skewer for meat when grilling. Also good in marinades with garlic black pepper, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and olive oil. Best on beef or wild game such as venison. It’s a hearty herb

Hey Holly, I've heard people say that....but honestly, if I take the leaves that aren't flowering, regardless of age....perfectly fine. I've never had any bitter ones.

I keep my leaves whole and then grind them when I need them.

Also I live in Nashville, Tennessee. We are about 40 at night and 65 during the day right now.

Hey Sarah, don't dispair! All three of those plants should be perennial where you live. Repotting should be easy. Just get a quality organic mix, make sure the root ball is loosened, and pot to the same level as they are now, just in a bigger pot. Don't over water, and place in a somewhat sheltered area! Should be good to go!

@@sarahfaye7953 repotting isn't as severe as pruning. You're not actually doing anything to the plant. If anything, you're giving it a bigger growing area and more of a buffer towards extreme temperature swings! Repotting isn't really an issue. Just don't over water as the temperatures dip down and the plants are slowing their growth. :)

Hey I have another question, this is for my indoor lavender, Mona, she has a little fly like pest and after I fly flap him, another one comes a day or two later....is there a diy spray I can make?? Someone told me a tsp of proxide and quart water, wdy think?

Depends on how hot your climate is....usually a day or two in hot hot sun.

You definitely can, but you don't have to. If grown organically, without chemicals or pesticides, there's no need to wash Rosemary.... or any herb really!

@@TheRipeTomatoFarms Well, I don't know if the garden is in is organic. I'm living in UK and in their gardens everybody have mice but they don't call the council to clean up the garden. I thought that the herbs and everything are dangerous to be consumed. I'm confused.

I come from Iceland and I managed to keep my Rosmary year around by keeping them inside in my house :DD I do need plant light in the winter though because our winters are very very dark :(

Oh man Caelestis...you need to grow your own. No way should they turn black like that! Its March now and I have Rosemary that I cut and dried in NOVEMBER and it's still quite green. We get a ton of rain as well, I would just combat it by either growing it in a raised bed situation or a container with excellent drainage. Its really quite a vigorous plant once it gets established and the amount you can harvest off of one plant is astonishing!

@@TheRipeTomatoFarms is it a potential issue with the store? I have no knowledge with the herb. They sell herbs by the bundle that get misted on. Chives, thyme, common sage, and rosemary.

You really shouldn’t microwave anything. It’s going to destroy beneficial nutrients.

@@sdoucette5229 Mine have been perfectly fine and have kept its flavor and scent.

Dang....ok. What I would do it give it a heavy, good watering. A nice mulch, and then observe. No more cutting until you can be certain the plant is fixing itself and starting to regrow. Let me know how it goes!!

Sorry didn't check back on this video, the rosemary bush survived and thrives 😁 It grew new branches and we always have more than we could use in the kitchen 👍🏻

Same here. I'm in Victoria, BC Canada and mine grows all through the winter too! Eventually, like all shrubs or trees they will outgrow their pots... Just gotta replace them with me cuttings, no other option unfortunately

@@scrappydappydoo I took it out of the pot, cut it into 3 pieces (large plants), planted one in the ground in my front yard, one in the back yard, and the other in the same pot. It all died. Since then I learned that you can't separate the mother plant :D I've starting new plants this year and they all look great :D

Outdoor or indoor Angelica? Try spraying them with water if outside, that usually works. For indoor ones, if you can take them outside briefly, the whitefly usually take off. Sticky tape traps also seem to work.
