I always struggle with the beginning of the braid. My hand eye coordination refuses to kick in at first… then next thing I knew I was braiding the braid like you were doing and my fingers just took over…amazing.

Didn’t do anything at all. Got me greasy hands, ruined hair tools, a half finished castor oil gel bottle, and a heavy crying session.

I love how you braid your hair and how you explain it. I have an easy time braiding other people's hair but find it difficult to braid my own. And my hair being shorter in the front doesn't help. I love how you show an overhead view of you braiding. That's part of the problem I can't really see the progress while braiding my own hair. Thanks for the great tutorial. I'll keep on trying.

Thank you. What’s crazy is I knew how to braid my own hair like this in high school and I had muscle memory it was easy. Now I’m 33 and I am back to beginner stage and relearning it so I can braid my sons and daughters hair 😅

SO CUTE!! I've got a teen with super curly and long hair and I've (we've) struggled with it for years. I've finally decided to start training myself how to braid. At some point she's gonna have to learn to do it herself bc mom won't be around forever! LOL!! Her hair is like velcro when I try to braid and all the hair sticks together and pulls through when I'm trying to separate the strands so I'm hoping these styling products and tools will help me get a handle on that bc honestly that is the worst part. Thanks!

Your video is great, Way more detailed than every1 else on YT. You are a sweet heart. Mine looks nothing like this and i have the same hair texture as well. Even with having my positive mindset, this is not working 4 me. I tried! Like real hard!. Try the hand placement that had both elbows in the air and just position it right in the middle. It pretty much works the same! Hope this helps!

I can’t get my hair to lay down. Gel just makes it hard and doesn’t slick it either 😢. I have a hard time having the hair stick together. I can braid my sister’s loose hair but I’m having such a hard time with mine. I don’t know what to do. Any tips? Btw I do it wet. I’ve tried dry and it’s harder for me to

Add a little from each side! It may help you to part your section longways down the middle and grabbing some from one section and then some from the other. Alternating sides and you go down. Right section under the middle, grab some from right side. Left side under the middle, grab some from left side. I hope this helps!

Is there a difference in the outcomes of the braid-out process, by doing it either way with brush out style/braiding style? Or do they reach a very similar braid-out outcome? I hope the question made sense, I loved the video, made a lot of the visuals super easy to follow! I'm going to try today

Blown out hair is typically easier to work with and gives and overall more elongated look to your braids. I prefer it personally!!

I think it’s easier to learn with a section half that size. Bigger sections was harder for me to learn but I taught myself with my doll head at a kid

I prob have the worst hair for trying this. I have a wwidows peak and baby hairs that i can never seem to braid into the braid and they end up getting all frazzled out

Just the side I’m pulling from! That’s a great question. For some people, it helps to split the whole section in half long ways to have a right side and a left side to pull from!

OMG, Ok I'm a bald male. So I know I have no business here. But I just wanted to say I did not know French braiding was so hard for many females. I mean I'm hopping around youtube looking at different fb tutorials and hearing females crying, throwing phones and what-not cause they cant master it. BTW as a man, yes I love love the fb look. So yes, learn this hairstyle my female friends. In the meantime, I think I'll look around some more at the comments just for laughs. 😀
