tip for finding chords: - select a scale (melodic minor, aeolian) - put the scale in a sampler for about 3-4 octaves - the ghost notes can help you stay in scale and find the sound you are looking for tip for edison: - put your pattern with your melodies on the playlist. - select record on play in edison - let it record the loop 2 times and take the second loop because there usually is some delay in the beginning of the first loop - you will have markers that tell you when the song "jumps" so you can easily see where the loop begins and ends

You don't have to draw silent midi to see the scale you want to write chords or melodies in, just go to the highlight settings (click the arrow in the top left corner of the piano roll) and you'll find several scales from major to more unconventional ones, the lighter stripes are the scale notes and darker ones are ones that you may avoid but you can use them to create some interesting progressions of course.

at 7:10 save as in edison in a folder where you can easily access your homemade loops for later use. name them with a cool name, their bpm, amount of bars and the key they're in for organization. save yourself the trouble and do it then, especially if you collab often. also, you can spend an entire session making like 50 hot loops this way and then send them out for collabs later. drums can be an entirely new session on a different day as well, so it will be like collabing with yourself.
