The High Alchemist, Ylialkemisti, is the most important boss in the entire game of Noita. It's this boss that stands in your way when you're looking to elevate your run to "god run" status by obtaining spells that allow you possible infinite digging and healing. Here are several simple ways to take him down, and tips on how to easily reach him.

Also, sorry for the dip in audio quality. My mixer recently died and I'm still in the process of setting-up and finetuning an entire new audio system. Triggered plasma beam cross feels like the most common one to get early, and it's pretty effective. If you wait until you might get Orbit Larpa from the dragon, that's most often a one-cast kill, and will waste the bridge boss too.

I also found a way to kill the high alchemist by only having a way over the tree. Basically you just use the evil eye to dig straight down to the arena, but not fully dropping in. After that you find the middle of the arena and start shooting down with the starting wand (which will work if its not spitter bolt, i recommend bouncy bolt). You try to find the alchemists location using the health bar as a hint. Then you just hold down left click. This works about 60% of times. Other times the high alchemist is just in so random spots you cant locate it.

Killed him the other day by raining down triplicate bolt. Took forever, but I was hiding in the roof and he never fired a shot at me.

Great video! I'd like to share a method that I usually used, which isn't very elaborate but I almost always won with it. Wand with only giant magic missile. This method is similar to the unstable crystal one - takes a little while, but the Alchemist has pretty easy patterns to avoid. The best thing about this method is that giant magic missile can be acquired in every run, because it spawns in the experimental math wand.

This is a very helpful addendum, I remember watching the old video a year ago and passing on the tentacler and lightning spells for fear they might not work compared with fireball thrower. Good to know now they do work, without having to sacrifice some promising runs.

im very grateful for the revised version of this video, i was confused because I wasn't getting progress on kills using the old methods, then I realized that finding the spells on a mountain isn't the goal lol. now that I know more methods ill be killing him more often :3

3:12 I dont usually watch a lot of noita content, but ive never seen anyone do the infinite tablet flight thing like that. I always just threw it straight up and got on top of it.

You can use Magic Guard and Spiral Shot (unlockable) to do the same sort of thing as the flies do. They became explosive when reflective though so you kinda gotta run. It's a risky but fun and fast kill.

You can also use piercing and fungus if you're lucky enough to find them early on

The way I kill him everytime is a teleport wand and then a melee wand. Much like the paha silma strategy

My goto-way to defeat this guy is with the spitter bolt timer, firing a homing mist cloud (or a few) with the plasma-beam orbit modifier. This will kill Squidward pretty fast too.

Spark bolt with trigger, 5 multicast, 4 summon explosive boxes/unstable crystals, and 1 spell that causes fire (the fire trails or fire balls). I've actually found the personal thrower spells to be a harder kill than just one-shotting him with insta-detonating explosives, and that setup is a lot easier to put together early in a run.

Can you do video about divide by spells and how to use them in bespoke ways? There are lots of of specific wand builds that use D#'s, and some very technical guides that try to make you into an expert at exploiting the programming behind them, but I still never really go for them because I don't know how to take advantage of them unless I'm specifically following a recipe for a crazy god wand.

you called it memey but I saw swarm of flies yesterday and knew i had the alchemist in the bag. word of warning though if you kill him too far off screen with this the crystal key will either not spawn or get dissolved somehow. idk it was like 3 or 4 screens below me so im not sure about what happened.

The last one was funny. I fought this boss using a very tedious setup. It involved mana to damage, triple cast and 3 spark bolts. The wand had 2.1k mana. had to shoot and hide a few times. took unnecessarily long. mainly due to mana charge speed being 50😂

i have defeated the alchemist sometimes but i dont think it counted i belive i used personal tentacler(not sure now) the other times but he did not apear in the enemys list is there something i need to do?

I'm personally a fan of magic missile and it's bigger cousins. They're not too hard to find within the first 3 levels. Hell, ya may even start with it. Main reason is is that they aim straight and fast, and 1 hit is guaranteed to make him reapply his shields. Not to mention that they just do very solid damage without putting yourself at crazy risk, or requiring additional spells to make work. Though it won't necessarily cheese the boss, unless ya got a lot of them on a large multicast wand. Still, even 1 magic missile has enough ammo to kill him. Especially if a pool of berserkium is nearby.

Summon Fly Swarm is how I have killed most of the bosses and enemies in the game. Aside from that I have never been lucky enough to get a good combo of wands and spells that I can kill everything else with.

Looking for this comment. I had to scroll so far. Did they patch this weakness out or what?! Just sit on top of him with the chainsaw wand and melt him in 1 second. Personally never used it but I've seen it.

This boss is currently immune to Slice damage, so chainsaws, sawblades, and arrows won't deal any damage.

hey fury, you should get the max lukki's mutation and invisibility, and go near the new building's you'll see something that's from what i can tell really interesting and might have some significance to the mysteries of this crazy wizard game. just was messing around and decided to see how truly hard lukki's mutation is and love how the leg's just kill without breaking invis. but i was walking past the pyramid invisible all the way and once that lava tower was in sight my invisibility broke until not in sight, when i say broke i mean i was still invisible but it was visible invisibility, or it might be a bug, but i think not, i think we need to see things in a different way. and i know people have looked in different gamma, brightness, and contrast before, but have they done it as lukki is my question what about other perks, like vampirism on the effect of fungus you'll never shift, because not able to get sick but every now and then you'll get the shift of colors but still never shift, oh and by the way im full vanilla no mods.

anyone know why the thing you get for completing the game called something different all the time, like i have killed myself with the sun when Midas fails and now mine is called Hermes bird, but my last run i made my dark sun and killed Kolmi with it for both normal kolmi kills and one gord kolmi sun kill.i have managed to kill the new rock boss without cessation and the 3 mina's, but all three mina ghost spawned with telle wands and didn't do it using extra life or saving grace.

I'm definitely not a Noita-only channel. I'm working on video essays for a large variety of knowledge-based, secret-y games (think Rain World, La-Mulana, Inscyption, ESA, Void Stranger.) Ive found that with Never skip legday and the evil eye, you can consistently kill the alchemist. You just jump straight on him, and make sure to look up as you kick him while holding the evil eye. Its cool, fun, and effective. Explosive boxes and bombs as detonation is pretty easy aswell, (berserkium makes this even better). Lukki minion can solo him aswell as the pyramid boss, but most summonable creatures aree very effective in higher numbers. Hollow egg can be paired with any number of spells, ie unstable crystal etc, and make quick work of him.

I love that this game exists . . . but I would never play such a complex thing. Takes a certain kind of nature, like sailing, or crossword puzzles or masochism.
