Thank you! The inner hole on mine was quite a bit more difficult- a block-type tunnel 🙄 but i pushed it through with an upholstery needle. 4 winds worked.

Different video i watched suggested winding until spring is tight. Then release a half turn. Install rope and allow it to roll up the rope until no tension. Install recoil and then cut rope at proper length to handle location. That ensures rope will be used up before spring reaches it's full tight point.

ty for the instructional.. Never done this before.. it was kind of a pain threading the pull cord since i was reusing the old one but using a paperclip hooked to it i managed. now its easy to pull and fires right up.. thanks

Circumference is Diameter • 3.14 (π) … that’s far easier than wrapping a metal tape in a circle or finding and untangling a dress makers tape, anyway, you do you….

Or to measure the round thing easily just measure the diameter across the center and multiply by 3.14.

I have gone loco trying to put the pull cord disk back on. 3 screws-yes. The pull cord will not catch the flywheel cover to start. any hints

Did this, put it back together, it is still locked and will only pull about an inch. Helppp

My craftsman has a cover on it that I cannot figure out how to remove. Don't have the socket size. I will have to go buy one, but what size socket? No money till next September the third.

I got a issue, ny cord didn't break what happened is the metal stopper came through the hole and so the cord is stuck not able to go back in, can i just tap it back through? or would i have to redo the whole thing? The cord is not detached its just stuck because of the stopper on the outside instead of the inside..

There is ZERO need to measure anything. You install the entire rope. Then if it's too long, you simply tie the knot lower to move the handle in and cut off the excess rope. Not to be rude, but you've just confused all the people you are trying to teach.

Sorry.....your video has not helped me!!!! Different lawn mower type, and no pull cord extension onto handle bars... I have a briggs and Straton engine....no rest stop for pull cord except on engine top..and...my cord blew off engine in middle of mowing lawn into street without any reason as to why it did that in first place!!???? It took handle and about 6 inches of the rope off!????? Felt like I hit a rock for a second or two when it happened???????
