Nice install Jack. Consider using Video Balun & Power Audio transmission over CAT5 CCTV. Few reasons Use cat 5 or 6 cable and terminate with normal RJ45 plugs. Then you can use a simple or advanced tester for cables faults. Also means that a day of tomorrow if they want to change to Ip camera you just change the camera. Cat 5/6/7 cable have an indoor verion and outdoor version. Outdoors is UV rated. When changing to IP camera using PoE switch (Power Over Ethernet) you will do away with the Power supply for the camera units. A point to note Balun are not water proof so keep them inside. Keep up the great work Jack.

Thankyou for your info sir, I’ve used those connectors baluns before and had issues with them so never used them again, stripping them off and putting rj45 is only a 5 min job anyway if they converted and I would have to work at either end of the cables anyway, Thanks for the comment legend ❤️

Jack no need to wire from router to DVR we do thousand of camera installs & use TP link powerline adapter kits mate work perfectly - just plug & play
@JRCElectrical
@JRCElectrical 8 ай бұрын
if I can’t wire one I would use a power line and have done loads in the past they work really well, just prefer to wire it so if they have a new router it can just plug in and away they go, those power lines sometimes need setting up

The reason the old cameras are at that height is so they can't easily be reached, while still being able to produce a decent quality image (so you can recognise faces etc). If you put hem up at soffit level, you may have trouble with the detail (especially at night). Best to test with holding one up at that level (top of a ladder) with a temp cat5 cable and get the customer to check they are happy with image quality. PS. A digital camera system would offer much better resolution than the analogue one you've installed, as well as allowing the system to be easily expanded later. The small 'L' shape is for the data, the big one is power. 😄 Make sure the hard-drive you get is rated for CCTV use too! POS = Point Of Sale IoT = Internet of Things.

Hey man brilliant video as always. Would recommend using a POE NVR means means the network cable is already powered save making off all they ends. Few things you were unsure about In the Setting POS - point of sale, shops can have overlay of what is being scanned in to till. IOT Internet of things basically smart features to send a signal to a smart hub then there turn on lights or sound alarm ect

A great video. You can get rj45 to BNC and ac or DC adapters. They are quicker and protect the solid cores from breaking or taking in water so easy. If I was you POE cameras are so much quicker and can be just as cheap to buy.

Not a lot of insulation in the loft, mine has 250mm and the recent heatwave cooked the circuit board on the DVR as loft space got to well over 60 degrees. Had to re wire it all and move the replacement DVR out of loft.
