Painting cloth is probably one of my favorite materials, as you can add so much texture to it with minimal fuss. In this video, I am going to be going over my favorite recipe for painting red velvet cloth unsinging sponging and stippling to really push the visual texture.
For this, I used some scale 75 paints, but the colors don't matter anywhere near as much as the techniques shown here.
As always, I love getting questions and seeing what you all create, so please feel free to reach out to me at:

Thanks you so much @RestlessSoul45! I am still actively checking this channel but have hit a massive hobby and video editing motivation road block. I have 4-5 videos halfway done and will eventually push through and get them out.

So I'm wondering why the cloths were green to begin with, and was your red base coat transparent enough to get some chromatic black in places from the optical mixing?

They were green just because I bought these models second hand and didn't think it was necessary to prime them black again. Good point on some of the green might have been showing through, but I don't think it impacted the final result too much. This cape on this ultramarine centurion was done the same way, just over a black undercoat and the end results are pretty similar. instagram.com/p/Cejlt6ruUfO/

Black base coat, paint the lower half a dark red, lower quarter blood red, lower eighth orange, and then a small dot of white on the top black part and bottom orange part. Finished it off with some gloss varnish

What did paints did you use to paint the spear and gauntlets?

I'm currently working on a tutorial for doing the blade of the spear, but its pretty much just a gunmetal glazed down with a dark blue, and then highlighted with silver. For the leather, I honestly forgot. But it was some combination of brown leather from scale 75, guilliman flesh contrast, and then a lighter tan I believe
