So to the ones that are having issues unlocking the characters here's a video I made that should shine some light on what the issue is. The method in this video still works and has been reported to still be working. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q8eAlqqZy5vQmJ8.html The new patch is live. As of now the patch includes new spirits. There's no word about the patch fixing this method but just in case make sure your switch is not connected to the internet or avoid downloading the update until you have unlocked the characters.

Another very effective way to unlock your characters is to let your lil brothers play about 4 hours

Finally a short video that explained everything, including what to do about failed fights. Apparently the characters I was missing were all at the gate. Didn't realize I lost so many fights 😅😅

It still works but I’d suggest waiting at least 10 seconds after closing the game to restart cus I think I might’ve gone in to quickly and I didn’t get a foe to come after it but now that I’m waiting a little before entering again it’s working perfectly

I didn't know about the 10 min cooldown, so that's helpful information! I already have all the characters unlocked, but still. I previously thought you unlocked them faster by defeating harder bots, but apparently the only thing that changed is the fact that each battle is more likely to last longer, requiring less battles to unlock each character.

This still works and thanks. I had to the dumb adventure now it’s just too easy.

If yall go to games and more at the bottom it’s a golden door it lets u approach a new character every time but it’s on the bottom right hand side under creating a battlefield

I can't even get lucky enough for the challenger to appear takes like 15 matches. This happens even when I close the game after beating challenger has approached and getting to level select. I think it's probably patched now.

still works! Thank you :) recommending Zelda for this, Lvl 1 CPUs often just stand around at the start of a match so you can just teleport them away with their 300% every time

I've tried over and over again but I only seem to get a character challenge randomly every couple of resets It takes at least a minute and a half to restart my game so to get two characters is taking me about 20 minutes

UPDATE: This works just make sure you play classic mode and complete it 2-3 times before doing this method( I did it 3 times just to be safe) having your internet on or off doesn’t matter

You can bypass the cool down by changing your game language back and forth from English to Spanish and doing a match.

You only get 30 characters. Then it stops giving you the option to win any more. The game flat out doesn't allow you to unlock any characters after 30.

I feel like I'm the only one who wants to gradually unlock everyone. Idk it just feels more rewarding to me
