Amen! I tried the traditional way with foam to mixed results. It took a lot of time and effort, so that was discouraging. This by comparison is much more manageable

@@maxgonzalez5696 I'm glad you think so! I feel the same way, and it occurred to me to try working "smarter" and not "harder", haha. Some things you just need the foam to be able to do, but a lot of times we're just making street scenes with brick buildings, so this seemed like it was worth a try. Good luck and have fun!

Man I thank you so much. I’ve been wanting dioramas for my ML or G.i Joe classified figures for so long however they are so expensive. Never really had the utensils to make or really time but this video helped a lot. Thank you! I really didn’t want to try to cut through that combo of wood and plastic, so I’d probably do something on top of the brick paper like with that roll up door. I think a solid door would be easier to make look good. If I’d had the vertical space for one I’d have done that or added a partial ladder to indicate it was either the bottom landing of one where there’s no window, or that the window was bricked over at some point. A little brick ledge to show where the window used to be would be a good move, too.

What / where did you get your shelf setup? How is it with dust when closed in? looks like the finished spots have glass?

They're Ikea Vittsjo shelves that I enclosed with plexiglass. They're open in the back (but against the wall and most of them have backdrops that help enclose them). It's pretty great for keeping dust out, overall. A little gets through but very little compared to an open shelf.

Thanks! Many bottom landings on fire escapes don't correlate to windows or doors, they're just a way to get down. There wasn't the space or supplies for another stretch of ladder going up. But on a shelf with giant anthropomorphic turtles who don't have an income stream, and a rare classic van that they somehow painted and outfitted with expensive equipment, there's a lot to wrap one's head around before we get to the fire escape 😂
