The Dragons that fly around Hyrule are important for upgrading several different armors and luckily there is a way to farm them for items effectively. Unluckily, each dragon still takes 300 years to farm. Here’s why:
Each Dragon “recharges” every 10 minutes, allowing you to grab exactly one item from them. This can be a talon, a tooth, a horn or a scale. The problem is, of course, that this is the only way you can get these items, and they are mutually exclusive in those 10 minutes. Buuut you’re allowed to just kinda… hang out on the dragon’s back. So, set yourself in the picnic position, set up something to watch on the side, and have a yourself a grand time farming these. Good luck on your Dragon Farms! I recommend One Piece.

since we all have a life outside of this game. its gonna take about 2 days for per a dragon and there are 4 dragons. to farm enough parts to fully upgrade the armors, thats around 2 weeks for all 4 dragons. so just get one of each the dupe glitch enough. duping enough will take you around 30 mins depending witch version you are one.

You can also set a ten minute timer or just break the mastersword for a more accurate timer (the 10 minute in between regeneration is stopped by pause menu)

You can use recall on the claws/talons to freeze it on the spot. It won't move and you can even use Ultrahand to pick it up _from_ the dragon's back.

Single-handedly the most useful comment on this whole video. Recall on those claws and fangs is genius and I'm mad for not thinking of it myself. Honestly, somehow these new Zonai abilities are harder for me to think outside the box with than BotW's Sheikah Slate abilities.

also, once you hit the part you want, it will take a few seconds for it to actually start falling down. So if you, for example, hit the horn right besides you, you can grab it before it comes off. it might be a bit more difficult for the claws or the teeths tough

@@matthewcholock1604 in general the game is beefed up to seem much bigger with a lot of farming and spawn rate when it doesn't need it. You completely take out the farming Korok search, you easily have over 100 hours of just playing, then there's all the exploring and dialogue, which add so much more.

@@josiahcho569 my point is that they have given this game hundreds of hours of "extra" gameplay by just making you farm, giving time limits on the farming, and even adding drop rates to certain items too lengthen it even more. And when people find glitches that can remove this rather terrible mechanic, they patch it out. Now, anyone who updates is stuck having to abuse a system that still breaks bows to do it. Ridiculous

You can just go to the 4th back spike and hang on as long as your not near the balls that come out of their mouths lol you should be able to hold on the whole time even when they go through the chasms up and down

Tip: Farosh, Dinraal, and Naydra all go under ground for their paths, and they also shoot lightning and cold at you, Dinraal is too hot to stand on. So make sure you wear the full rubber, flame breaker, or Rito armor sets so you don’t die. Also make sure you stay in between some of their spikes, so you don’t fall off when they go under or up.

@@Ethanhoyt427 that's only for the heat/cold, if you get hit by their Fire or Ice balls you'll still get burnt or frozen, so you have to wear the full 2 star set to either be unburnable or unfreezable

I wait for them to fly out of the depths and cling to them like theyre a glue trap. But I will ride them into the depths too. It's the main reason I have so much of the depths discovered.

Yep... I look around and start dropping pins for Yiga Hideouts in the depths... But the best way to map the depths is to drop pins under all of the surface Shrines. Those mark the Lightroots. The build a hover bike with 2 fans and a steering stick and fly to each pin in the depths.

Spoilers ahead. For me everytime I fast travel to the Gerudo canyon sky view tower farosh (lightning) seems to be at the east gerudo chasm below the tower. Naydra(ice) fittingly for me was always at her snowfield so just travel to the tower and fly into the chasm till you see her. Dinraal(fire) is the only one I don’t know yet Zelda(light) is usually around central hyrule I’ve always seen her around there.

This isn’t true, they have specific paths that they fly around, and it’s all based on real time. There is no way of knowing where they are at a certain point in time.

Please note that if you're gonna chill on a dragon, the Light dragon is the only one you can truly afk on. This is because Dinraal, Farosh and Naydra all go into the depths, which means you need to hold on before they go down.

The reason why they mentioned you can’t hang on the dragons forever is because for some reason, waiting on the dragon for hours will cause a sudden Panic Blood Moon and when it’s cutscene is over, you’ll be back at where you last stood before getting on the dragon

Also make sure you have the appropriate elemental resistances. Dinraal: Level 2 Flamebreaker. Naydra: Level 2 Snowquill. Farosh: Just use the Thunder Helm. Light Dragon: Just get some cold resistance armor for the parts where it goes above cold regions.

I didn't need level 2 on the flamebreaker armor to walk around on Dinraal, i just wore the chestpiece and the Rudania Divine Helm and i was fine unless by level 2 you were referring to 2 bars of resistance (so 2 levels of either flame guard or cold resist)

This was how I upgraded my champions leathers. Waited on the light dragon while soaring above hyrule. Be careful with farming the others though, they go into the depths through chasms and spawn different weather effects.

If you want to you could just dupe the parts, but one thing to note is if you're using the tobio's hollow chasm method, you can't dupe fangs, they just break when you shoot them with your bow

You actually can dupe them it's just difficult because they are so large that if the arrows don't spread far enough apart the fangs break. Standing farther down can help with that.

One thing to watch out for when farming the Dragons: Dinrall, Naydra, and Farosh often make pitstops in The Depths, and will go completely vertical during the transition. When they do, make sure youre somewhere on them you cant fall off. I recommend a climbing position on one of their back spikes. You wont consume Stamina if you're sitting still, and youll automatically be positioned upright as they go. If you're on the Light Dragon, that one doesnt go into the Depths so you'll be completely fine.

Naydra enters the Depths at Kakariko village and exits out by the tower on the snowy mountain. Farosh enters at Lake Hylia and exits in Gerudo desert near Arbitors grounds. Dinraal enters the hole north of the lost woods and exits at Akkala?

I upgraded the Champion's Leathers before I received the Master Sword in my first playthrough and it was a pain because of the time and the amount of materials that you have to obtain from the Light Dragon in order to do so

I fully upgraded the Fierce Deity set over the course of two play sessions by just hanging near the dragon and waiting for it to respawn its parts. A half hour a piece before farming for Hinox parts. I already had tons of Lynels parts because I am a masochist and love fighting them.

If you cycle through each dragon it takes about 10 minutes so by the time you finish the last dragon the first one is about ready to make a new piece, then once you have one piece of every dragon part you can just duplicate infinitely

Light Dragon: never descends to the depths, circumnavigates Hyrule in clockwise fashion(N,E,S,W), usually getting close to the Geoglyphs. Farosh: Emerges from depths at East Gerudo Chasm, descends at Hills of Baumer Chasm. Naydra: Emerges from depths at Naydra Snowdrift Chasm, descends at Kakariko Village Chasm. Dinraal: Emerges from depths at East Akkala Plains Chasm, descends at Drenan Highlands Chasm. The Light Dragon takes about a week of in-game time to fly her route, all the other dragons have varying flight durations. For the Light Dragon and Naydra, make sure you have cold resistant gear or potions/meals, especially if you go the route of camping on their backs and farming parts that way. All the heat from the Death Mountain volcano sank into the depths, so you only have the cold of the Gerudo Highlands and the Hebra Mountains to worry about while on her back. Naydra produces her own cold environment. The air surrounding Farosh, while riding on her back, will be in a state of constant thunderstorm, so it'd be best to have either a tier 2 set of rubber armor or the Lightning helm. Dinraal will set you on fire if you aren't doused in water, fireproof from elixirs/potions/meals, or wearing the flamebreaker armor set.

If you want to farm dragon horns, do it with the light dragon. And wear the lightning helm and cold resistant clothing. Riding the Light Dragon will let you just leave the game running every 10 minutes without the fear of falling off the dragon (unlike if you farm on Dinraal, Naydra, or Farosh where they go up and down the chasms which will make you fall).

If you run along the back of the light dragon specifically, there will be shards of spikes that you can pick up that are jammed in beside the spikes themselves. I walked along its back once and got twelve spike shards.

Also important to know, each dragons flying cycle is about 30 minutes real time, but not the light dragon, she takes about 2 hours to fly through her cycle

I completely hate when i fell off trying to catch anything... Anyway, literally 30 minutes ago i farmed all the dragon materials i would ever need to improve the armors, to do the quests on the "fountains", etc (i don't care at all about using those materials to make weapons... worth weapons but time consuming outside of any duplication glitch ¬¬'). Btw, you just need to climb the first spine near the head and you'll be safe afk there (while you can wait 10 minutes to farm again anything from the dragon).

My favorite thing to do with the dragons is to balance a wing on the nose with 2 lights on it and blind the dragons/Zelda, it is so fun to make them not be able to see after putting you through that 10 minute hell

That’s how I fully upgraded the fierce deity set I had marked on my map where some lynels and hinoxs were so I had a grand old time murdering three brothers and five lynels every blood moon but the payoff was worth it

I just make rounds teleporting to SkyView towers and collecting from each dragon. By the time I get the last part from the last dragon, the first one is already recharged.
