How to enable ECG and blood pressure on Galaxy Watch 4 for non-Samsung and Samsung phones

Use Galaxy Watch 4’s ECG & Blood Pressure Monitoring with non-Samsung phones and Samsung phones.
I hope you had success on linking your phone with your galaxy watch 4 (classic). Non-Samsung phones are not allowed to use ECG or blood pressure functions, although the watch has the capacity to do so (???!!!). Additionally, Samsung limited the US edition of the app to measure ECG but not blood pressure (because of no fda approval). Here is a solution to use ECG and blood pressure monitor in Galaxy Watch 4 with non-Samsung phones (tested on Huawei P30 Pro) and Samsung phones (tested on Samsung S22 Ultra).

I'm happy to say that sync now is working but I believe your Apks are outdated as I have added language support and continously adding (Versions may be the same but the dates of last updated don't match)... @@pptsci visit my XDA thread, the creator of the solution reached me long back then for modifying the app and it wasn't working because of signature error and galaxy wearable is a core application so no modifications were done and he proposed that solution which I'm sharing on my thread (credits to him and the other reddit user) but on my thread there are some touch-ups from my side in case it didn't work...

Hi, great thanks to your video. After watching yiur video i decided to buy Galaxy watch 5 Pro. And i am using OnePlus 10 Pro. But when i try to install the Modified Samsung Health Monitoring App(from rhe link in your description) my mobile says that" App not installed because it is not compatible with your device" and got stuck at this point. I have got a question since I am not an owner of Samsung phone but I would like to buy these watches. After installing this modified APK, is it still possible to use Google Pay and to use the original non-modified health app? I have read that the modified app is very unstable if it comes to things different than ECG. Thank you.

@@MatescoCZ The context of this modification is that the Samsung Health Monitor app is currently not available for non-Samsung phones AND ECG and blood pressure functions are disabled. The modified APKs (Samsung Health Monitor in the phone and the watch) allow you to enable that. Properly modified apks, such as the ones I included, originally from reputed authors from XDA-developer forum should be just modifying those two apps, not other apps or settings related. Responding to your question, Google Pay should be fine (Disclaimer, as a Huawei phone user, I can't use Google Pay so can't confirm it for you). The Samsung health app (most health related functions including sleep tracking, step tracking, heart rate, are on this app) is fine.

UPDATE 2: Again, just a dumb user mistake. I kept opening the native app and didn't realize there was another identical icon for the file we installed. Working perfectly, hope this helps someone! Thanks for the video! UPDATE: Nevermind I'm a dumb dumb. I wasn't in the packages tab, I was in command. Now I see the watch connected in the app but the watch still wants me to download the app. Any advice? I'm having an issue. When I try to run the file on the program, it says syntax error and doesn't work. Any help? Followed instructions to the tee 50 times. I'm on pixel xl3.

Thanks worked for me (Arabia Region). However, I needed to reset the watch and choose UAE as my region, since ECG and Blood Pressure Monitoring is not authorised in my country.

Hi Galaxy Watch 4 uses a new operation system (Wear OS) so this approach does not work with Active 2. I wish I can help but I don't have an Active 2 to experiment on:(

I highly doubt it;) I do see they have two sizes for straps. One for 130-190mm, the other for 145-205mm. Hopefully one fit for you. You may ask if you can exchange yours for the right size at a Samsung Store.

Hey, there seems to be an issue with the Drive downloads for me... The health monitor apk is listed two times and after downloading and trying to install it android throws an installation error. The other two downloadable packages both have 0kb after the download is complete and already throw an error while downloading... Any advice?

The changes made here are only on the Samsung Health Monitor app on the phone and on the watch. It will not change other things. Be sure to download those apps from a trusted source so nothing else is in the apps.

Hi Spies - I looked into the issue a bit and it is unfortunate that Samsung blocked those functions in South Africa. It seems you need to flash the watch rom to get the blood oxygen. I think you can try the tutotial in this video to have luck with the ECG and blood pressure. If you figure out a way to get blood oxygen work please share with us!

Galaxy Watch 4 official app exclude other phones to use those functions; and depending on regulations on your jursidictions, Samsung bans the use of certain functions (blood pressure in the US). You can follow the instruction to make them work.

Nothing is absolute but the current modifications only affect the Health monitor apps on the phone and on the watch. Worst case is the ECG/BP do not work. I don't think it would in any way turning your watch to brick.

1) Did you open the modified SHM app on the watch (the one with the m on the icon)? 2) If your Galaxy Wearable can connect your watch, your SHM should be able to connect to your watch.

@@pptsci yeah I did open the right SHM M app. But strangely it didn't connect. I got the watch as of today so I'll be sending it back for a refund and I'm getting the new FitBit Sense so I won't have any complications with ECG. But thanks for your reply!

You video was helpful. A bit too fast but I'm not sure how one would slow it down. The music is terrible. Creates stress when trying to do something properly. I had to mute that shat.

I tried to follow your tutorial, but i cannot install the modded SHM.apk on my phone Oneplus 7t pro ? Any suggestions?

@@kwietkarma Is that the step 6 using the ADB tool to install the watch SHM app apk? Mine did not have any message but quietly installed it. If so, alternatively you can try using the PC to install that apk. I will try to post something in a few days.

@@kwietkarma Maybe you did not turn on the settings on installing apps from other sources. Go In your phone's settings > security > enable unknown sources. Then try step 3 again.

Wont work on my p20 pro . Comes up with installation failed, version downgrade. Any ideas

Because it is a modified app. Out of caution some phones will show warning message. If you are concerned about the potential harms, you can check other comments' feedback, or go to xda-developers.com to download the apks.

Did you click connect not pair in step 6? Some people got that wrong.

@@XxPurEEv1LxX Just done it on my S22 Ultra. The hiccup I had is after I clicked connect on step 6 it did not connect. On the watch I turned off and on debugger mode and back to the menu. And then it worked.
