Hi Pru , Been using kumihimo ever since I saw you on JM ,,. I find this a very relaxing hobby , giving most of the braids away as gifts ,, when mixing epoxy I use Pringle lids , there are other containers that have similar lids ,, when set , just bend the lid and the glue falls off ,,. Regards Alf

Very useful. I wish I’d seen this before I took up Kumihimo. The tutorials from other so called experts cost me a lot of wasted cord, glue and time!

Very Helpful video, thank you Pru. I have a question. I am using E6ooo at the moment. I am following the instructions in your book on Kumihimo endings, using glue. You recommend putting glue on the end of the braid then waiting for it to dry but not get hard. Roughly how long does this drying take? Half an hour? Or one or two hours? It would be very useful to know.

Is it the pearl bracelet I wear in the giveaway draw video? I would love to do a video tutorial for it. It is made on my Prumihimo disk. I also have other bracelets using pearls planned.

Brilliant thank you. One question please, why do you use the glue on the braid, then cut with scissors as opposed to using a thread burner? Would the glue method be stronger?
@Prumihimo
@Prumihimo 7 жыл бұрын
I think it is more a matter of personal preference than strength. I like to use glue because I find it easy to control and see if the braid is properly sealed before I cut it. I know that lots of people like to use burners to melt the braid and it should be perfectly secure, as long as you are sure that all the cords have been melted together. If you want to use this method I suggest getting a CORD burner, rather than a thread burner, because they are bigger and stronger.
